Loc'ing Up!
I have a male friend who is going bald...and he's VERY insecure about it.

I know that usually it is a hereditary issue, but is there SOMETHING that could help?

I think he should just shave it all off. It looks good on some men.

The men I know that's going bald tried Rogaine and all of the other stuff. They usually get fed up, and shave their heads. They say they don't want to use that stuff forever. When they stop using those things the hair falls out again.

I've suggested this to him, but he won't do it. I don't know what else he can do.

There is a medication called Propecia 1mg tablets..it is available by prescription and it is used to regrow hair for men only. Originally it was used to treat BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) but they found that in lower doses it can be used to treat hair loss. Its quite expensive but its an option that is available. From what I can see with the customers that come in my job and get it it works.

If he does try the Propecia, or any other oral medication, have him check out the side effects thoroughly! Some medications have side effects that's much worse than the problem you're taking them for.....then you end up with ANOTHER problem.

These days he has options if he feels that bad about it.

Better yet, he might want to just go bald and keep on movin.

Hmm...he was taking some pills at one point, and I think one of the side effects was impotence....yeah....I think he stopped after finding that out...I will ask him what they were called.

I agree. Bald is sexy. It might take some getting used to...but it will grow on him. I mean, Tom Cruise looks good with hair, but if he went bald, I think it could grow on me. (He looks more like a macho bad boy bald :giggle: )

I liked Samuel L Jackson as bald Shaft:

I think Vin Diesel looks great bald:

I don't think LL looks bad either. He looks better with a hat on f'sure, but still, I don't think many ladies would object to a date with him coz he had no hair:

Great thread --
My hubs is 33 and is thinning in his crown and he's not feeling this look at all. He's against taking pills and using rogaine. He'll try things such as shampoos, oils, conditioners, etc. but nothing too much outside of that.

Maybe he could try some Boundless Tresses?

Do you know if this really works?

I recommend he try the concoction I used. Here's what was shared on another forum: http://healthyskin.infopop.cc/eve/a/tpc/f/1990018252/m/9170088235
Thank you kindly for the info.

can he grow facial hair? the bald head and goatee look (i.e. Common) is simply :lick: If he isn't a brother it's still :lick:. if his head has dents and bumps then it's a :nono:. he'll have to go with topical treatment.

ETA: Whatever he does, please tell him DO NOT get a toupee.

Thanks all! I will run these suggestions by him. I promised I would do some research and see what I can find...I just want him to be happy with himself...and his hair.
