My hair hates me. That's the only conclusion I've been able to reach about this slow growth I've been experiencing.

Comparison pics:

I can't remember, but I think this was 6 months ago:

I think this was late April or early May:

BTW, I used WestNDNbeautyy's flat iron method this time, and I DEFINITELY noticed a difference in my hair. It's smoother, way more moisturized, and it hangs heavier. Big, BIG shout out to her!

Now, if only it would GROW FASTER!

A few more pics (I'm hiding my eyes because it was 3 am and I looked as tired as I was:giggle:):

Blowdried (it's wavy because each section was braided):

One section done:

It looks thicker, SB!!! And definitely fuller at the bottom. :yep:

I 100% sympathize with the slow growing blues, though. :hug3:

your hair is too thick and beautiful to be worrying about length lol no but seriously it's at a great length already and is getting longer.

Thank you JK! Ugh, it's frustrating. I think the rest of my hair is growing to catch up with my bottom layer, but my bottom layer hasn't really moved and it looks like it's filling in rather than getting longer. I'm trying to be patient, but I want to make MBL by the end of the year and it doesn't look promising.

Did you wash wash your hair first and then do WNDB method, or did you just put conditioner on it as she did in the video?

I just put the conditioner on dry hair (same con from the video), then a shower cap. I did stuff around the house for a few hours, then sat under the dryer for 20 minutes before rinsing. Then I sprayed some heat protectant on (not the same one she used. I used ION heat protectant spray from Sally's) and blowdried/flat ironed.

That's amazing, usaully you would have to wash your hair ti remove build up...but I guess the conditioner was enough to clean and moisturize the hair......

That's what I thought too. I asked West about that and she said some people shampoo after rinsing the con out. I didn't want to take the chance and strip the moisture, so I didn't do that. My hair is clean, but there is still a little buildup on my scalp. Then again, I had twists in for 3 weeks before this, so I hadn't washed in awhile.

Next time, I'll probably wash, let my hair dry, then do the DC on dry hair. That method is a keeper for me.:yep:

Your ends indicate that your hair has been growing. I can see that your layers have been growing out and that's why your ends look sooo much thicker! Your hair looks gorgeous:love:!

SB this is gorgeous and sooooo thick!!!

I agree that your ends have filled out as well. They look way thicker. That side profile shot is the biz!! I can see the difference in how smooth your hair looks due to the new flat iron method as well. Did you use the comb that WNB used?

:notworthy Your hair looks beautiful, thick, healthy, and long! Don't worry either, you will reach your goal, if not by the end of the year, certainly the early part of 2011. Your hair is gorgeous:yep:.

You are making wonderful progress:yep::yep::yep:

Girl. let them layers do some catching up. Go read a few good books while your hair does what needs to be done!!!!

That's some great progress!!!!

ends way better

allover thicker

allover fuller
