your #1 hair issue?!!!

My biggest problems right now are keeping my hair moisturized and rentention. I was BSL but now one side is obviously shorter than the other, a bit below APL and I think it was when I has a sew-in for 2 weeks and I must have cut it when I took it out. :(

Now that I've reached "APL-ish" length (or stage in my journey), my #1 hair issue (or issues) are: 1. being impatient in getting to my next goal, 2. being scared of wearing my hair down in fear of splits/breakage, 3. my hair looking stringy due to low density and fine hair (although it's genetic) :ohwell:

Now that I've reached almost 6 months into this stretch my biggest issue is keeping the moisture/protein balance in both textures. They are almost complete opposites.

Now that I've reached "almost BSL", my #1 hair issue is being impatient (I'm waiting for my nape to catch up)...other than that I'm having an amazing hair journey :yep:

#3 PROBLEM: (NEW TO THIS)--->ya'll talked this up=> SK & SSK's!!! wtf? my hair is too short for this ish.. how does one with a TWA section off hair to wash? you don't!!!:wallbash::wallbash::ohwell::ohwell:

exactly SSKs are my main issue now that my TWA is growing up. Yesterday after reading a thread on SSK I started going through my hair - I have a few strands with 5, yes I said 5 ssk's on them !!!!!

I do notice that they occur only on the last inch or so of my hair and are scattered throught my head

I noticed also after experimenting on a patch of hair with Kimmaytubes pH balanced leave in mix, that my hair really feels smoother and possibly, the lifted cuticles may have been contributing to the SSKs. I dunno, just speculating:rolleyes:

Now that I've reached "APL/BSB?BSL limbo" length (or stage in my journey), my #1 hair issue (or issues) are Too many hair strands on wash/comb days.? I'm STILL trying to figure out whether my hair needs protein or moisture and the two textures don't facilitate matters either.:wallbash::rolleyes:

Now that I've reached "_APL_" length (or stage in my journey), my #1 hair issue (or issues) are __see through ends_____, don't know how to solve them. I'm in the SHE challenge and the Braids challenge, I'm starting to wonder if it's because of the braids???

Now that I have reached "mainly NL hair" my main issue is patience! I'm starting to push SL at the sides and the back but the front of my hair is so uneven it isn't even funny. I can pull my hair from the sides and the back into a really small puff with a scrunchie (couldn't do this two months ago) but it's hard to do anything with the front! :ohwell:

Now that i am two inches away from bsl, my main hair issue is breakage and shedding
the shedding is caused by the weather but the breakage i dont know where it is coming from. i baby my ends, moistrurise daily and do every other thing right but i still get breakage. i'm at wits end as to what i should do

Now that I've reached "almost shoulder" length, my #1 hair issue is styling.

I'm in one of the dreaded in-between stages. I'm gonna basically stay in a bun for the summer so I don't have to deal with it.

I've tried a bantu knot-out, a twistout and a rollerset for a curly look. None of them looked remotely good.

I end up wrapping it or flat iron and wrap it and I'm not okay with doing that anymore. :wallbash:

Now that I've reached "__2 INCHES FROM APL____" length (or stage in my journey), my #1 hair issue (or issues) are MY THINNING EDGES AND CROWN AND MY VERY LOW DENSITY FINE HAIR.. i NEED SOME THICKNESS_______?

Try adding more Protein, to strengthen hair. Maybe it could use less moisture and Prosity Control Conditioner which also strengthens.

I, nube nap, have single strand knot issues. In addition to that I go on a search and destroy with my fingers on my nape when I'm bored at work!! Bad I know!!! Thats why I cut those off this morning...I'm hoping to recover and do better next time.

Now that I've conquered my excessive dryness problem, my #1 hair issues are:

- Recovering from a setback (breakage, thinning hairline, decreased volume)
- Diversity in styling

hey sis!
I read on here that a few members heat coconut oil & dip their ends in in order to "treat" the breakage, drying, and/or SSK's they get on the ends of their hair

Ever try this method? (and even then possibly bun them and baggy to ensure moisture retention)

get rid of cones? clarify?

I haven't tried either of the bolded tried and true methods. Others praise it but I never really thought about trying it out myself (). I think I will go try it right now, Thanks for the tip! :yep:

My main issue, No matter what my hair length is or will be is dryness.

Nothing really stops my hair from snap, crackling and popping. The only thing that keeps it from doing that is loading up on a bunch of moisterizer...which in turn leaves my hair a greasy flat mess :ohwell:

My sides..my sides..my sides. The texture is more coarse, grows slower and is just overall less agreeable than the rest of my hair. Then my stress spot is on my right side of my head, so I tug at it too....just alot going on with the sides.

Now that I have reached my current length, I have been stuck there and cannot get past BSL. My hair is also thinner as it gets longer. I don't know what happend to the thickness that i had early on. Oh and thinning hair line.

Now that I'm BSB my main hair issus is finding away to keep my hair straight/presentable without doing a traditional wrap (I don't like the cross wrap).

Now that I'm 3 months post, the #1 hair issue is that I have is detangling! I don't think I've ever been so scared of a comb/brush/fingers/fingernails in my life! Everytime I hear a pop from breakage or see hair in my comb I die a little on the inside...:nono:

Now that I reached "APL" my main issue is "thinning ends" which I assume is caused by "breakage."

Hopefully, adding protein and more protective styling will fix that issue.

Now that I've reached APL, my #1 hair issue (or issues) are tangles when I don't detangle for a few days. I think they're caused by the shed hairs. Also, my scalp seems to get dirty a lot quicker than it used to. My other issue is (not really a hair issue) using up conditioner and product too quickly. It's getting costly!

Now that i reached NL my main problems are ssk's, too porous hair and need to learn how to braid since wash and gos are not working anymore :ohwell: ( results in a tangled mess)

Now that I've reached bsb, my issues are shedding (not bad, but annoying) and a layer that is a turtle (meaning slow). It's still at APL, while the others are growing.

Dryness, plus I can't figure out my hair type, and the whole porousity issue confuses me. My hair feels best 2 days after I wash/condition, then it's back to hay. I think I have to DC 2x a week.

do you clarify often??? i heard of this youtuber once named kimmaytube :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: (couldn't resist)...she spoke of a life changing moment in her hair journey when learning why moisture was not reaching her hair strands. One of her solutions was to increase her frequency in washing....rinsing , and (occasional cowashing) her hair to incorporate the use of water (her main moisturizer) more often....I noticed nearly each wash day she usually clarifies

Tangles,Tangles & how the center in the back grows a lot faster then the rest (v),Splits etc...

(SPENDING TOO MUCH FOR CONDITIONER $$$$$$$$$$$$$$)

Happy Hair Growing!

Now that I've cut my hair back to APL (or stage in my journey), my #1 hair issue (or issues) are having shorter hair. I thought I would be much more prepared for the shrinkage I have that brings my APL hair up to my neck but i'm not. Since really learning about my hair I don't have any issues at the moment with health or moisture, breakage or even shedding outside of the normal range. My big thing is my own hairnorexia that I must get over. I want it at least back to my BSL. So i'm working on it.
