I just bought some of this and apart from being light on hair and to be used for sealing are there any benefits? Has any of you had good or bad experiences?

I use grapes seed oil to pre poo and detangle on wash days! I personally love it! I started using it because I found that EVOO was not working well with my hair.

I use infuse my grapeseed oil with herbs and use it as a scalp oil and sometimes mix it with my conditioners. Ive never used it for sealing but i may try that next.

Im curious how to use this oil as well.. when I 1st went natural I went out and bought everything that everyone praised over... THIS oil is just sitting.. untouched :perplexed

Grape seed oil is a lightweight, colorless and odorless oil that has a number of uses. It can be taken as a health tonic, used as a cooking oil or used to moisturize the skin and hair. Because it is lighter weight than many other oils, such as olive oil, it absorbs into the skin and hair much faster, and without weighing hair down.

I've been using grapeseed oil for years...i love it!!!

please explain!

Sure. I just used a few crushed aspirin, ACV, and a few squirts of grapeseed oil. The mix was majority ACV though. My skin looked really bright and smooth when I used it (like I'd had a facial!) and I didn't have to follow up with a moisturizer. :) I've been dying to make some more, I just need to get some more oil. :yep:

I use Grapeseed oil in my prepoo mix, in my hair sealant mix with castor oil sometimes and on my face after I wash it.

Yep - all of that. I mix it with everything (and also for cooking and a butter substitute on toast, etc.). If an oil or butter is not working well for your hair or skin preps try blending it with grapeseed oil and you'll notice a big difference.

I love grapeseed oil too! (Haven't had any in a while; just can't afford right now)
But like jojoba (like other posters said) it's very light. My hair LOVES both.
But olive oil ...not so much(unless mixed w/other oils.)

I never thought of it that way, I was still using my regular cleanser. I used the toner about 3 or 4 times a week as I thought the ACV could be drying if I used it too much. But my skin is like an oil spill anyway, so 3-4 times a week was fine.

*looks down at the bottle just purchased today*

I plan on using it on my fine hair, since it wont get weighed down.

I'll also probably use it when I do my oil washes.

I use grapeseed oil for sealing, oiling my scalp, and pat it around my eyes at night- it's supposed to fight wrinkles/signs of aging.

I use it as a moisturizer after cleasing my face. I apply it to my face while it's still wet and let it dry. It leaves my face moisturized buy not greasy. I have oily skin.

What does aspirin do for the skin?

I use grapeseed oil as a sealant after I have washed my hair. I apply it to damp hair and then add my leave-ins after that.:yep:

What does aspirin do for the skin?

Aspirin has salicyclic acid in it and can help clear up the skin. You need powdered aspirin or non-coated aspirin to make your mixture. There are youtube videos on aspirin masks or aspirin toners.

Aspirin mask=3 aspirin tablets mixed with honey or aloe vera gel To dissolve the aspirin tablets just add a drop of water.

Aspirin toner=aspirin tablets mixed in with witch hazel

This is one of my favorites! I luv how light it is. Most oils leave my hair a greasy mess but this one doesn't. I use it to seal with mostly but I occassionally will condition my hair with it. I also use it on my face to oil cleanse with. My face and hair absorbs it so well and it leaves both very soft.

Do you mix with other oils or by itself?

i take grape seed extract but i think i will invest in some grape seed oil. when my hair is freshly relaxed its so light that even a little bit of product weighs it down. i'll see how grape seed oil works with it.

I'mma newbie and have question. Oil is for sealing right? Does applying oil before leave-ins seal the leave-ins out or helps lock them in?

Thanks

Yes, oil is for sealing moisture in.:yep:

I seal with the grapeseed oil on wet hair before applying leave-ins only because the oil is all natural so I would rather use it directly on the clean hair instead of layering it on top of my unnatural leave ins.:look: I add the leave ins just for extra protection and softness.

Now on dry hair you will definitely need to apply the leave ins first because that is what will remoisturize your hair.
