DC cocktails

This is the ONLY way I DC now....I have so many different combinations. Ususally It's 2 traditional DC's with an instant conditioiner and JBCO. Some of the staple DC's in my cocktails are Silicon Mix, AOHSR, AOWC, Aussie 3 Min, Skala Chocolate, Shescent it Avocado Conditioner, and Silk Elements Moisturizing Treatment.

My hair is flourishing from these cocktails- who knows better than me what my hair needs are. I can easily add more strength, moisture, slip, etc based on what my hair needs.

Okay I mix two conditioners (jessicurl weekly deep treatment and Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose). They are both for moisture purposes. However, I am feeling everyone else's reasons for making the cocktails. Ladies when you post can you tell me which products you use for what effect. I some say banana for shine, etc. I would be interested in other products/things and their effect on the hair.

Whenever I do my cocktail, I promise to report back.

Protein Cocktail:
*Una Bomba Dominican Conditioner
*Redken Silk Fuel (or Redken Extreme Fuel for an extra protein kick)
*Chi Silk Infusion (or Protein Filler)
*Bee Mine Avocado Cream Conditioner
*Organix Coconut Oil Conditioner

Moisture Cocktail:
*Honey
*Coconut Oil
*V05 Moisture Milks Conditioner
*Hibiscus Petal Powder
*Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat
*Capilo Sole & Cinnamon Conditioner

I use cocktails but I can't vouch for how great they are. I do love my DT cocktail:

- AO (Islands or GPB or other)
- honey
- yogurt
- EVCoconut Oil

For my DC cocktails lately I've been using:
- Skala Shea Butter masque
- EVCO
- Skala Aloe Vera masque

I used to love Phyto DC and ORS replenishing pack. Someone on another thread thot it was useless to create cocktails cuz you never know which of the items work or doesn't work.

I'll mix oils in with my conditioners but if you have sensitive skin (and I do) PLEASE be careful (and definitely err on the side of caution) before you mix a bunch of stuff and throw it on your head/hair. I made the mistake of trying to finish using a few bottles of stuff.... I paid the price.

Familygoingnatural on YT posted a video about this.

My main mix is:
Cholesterol
AlterEgo Garlic
Keracare Humecto
Almond Oil
Jojoba Oil
Lavender JBCO
Rosemary Oil (5 drops)
Lavender Oil (5 Drops)

mixed in a mixing bowl then apply with applicator brush.

When I get deeper into my stretch I subsitute one of the conditioners with Silicon Mix.

I always prepoo with AOHSR on dry hair!!

DC no heat
Skala Fruit Cocktail masque
cinnamon
wheat germ oil
castor oil
Lustrasilk mango and shea conditioner

DC w/ heat

Silicon mix
honey
evoo
wheat germ oil
coconut oil
silk amino acids
LaBomba conditioner

Everything I do to my hair is a cocktail. I like to mix SAA, pathenol and an oil with at least 2 or 3 conditioners on a regular day. If I do a protein DC I will use Silicon Mix straight or the Pantene mask. This also helps me use up my stash.

I really need to invest in some SAA. How much do you use and how has your hair benefited from it?

The wildest deep conditioner I've done has envolved banana, peanut butter, honey and oils. I like to mix my protein and moisturizing treatments together.
Avocado, coconut milk, honey and oils. I think that is a more conventional mixture.

what was the peanut butter for? i can't even imagine. lol

I was watching a youtube of a girl mixing a DC cocktail with a ton of stuff in it. I had never considered doing it, but it makes sense because your hair may need multiple things. So what's in your DC cocktail?

i have a video similar to the one you describe on my channel. ::wonders if it was me you were watching:::spinning:

I wish i could remember who she was. i remember that she had long maybe type 3 hair and was light brown and since i erase my history and cookies so often of the computer, its gone. i do remember that it was a two part video.

I always whip up a DC concoction. Last weekend it was an ORS pack and a pack of Silk Elements Moisturizing Cond. Next weekend it'll be an ORS pack and Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol. I have to use the Lustrasilk up so I'll mix ORS with it. Someday I hope to only use 1 dc, LOL.

I don't know if it is considered a DC or a treatment but last night I mixed coconut cream concentrate, lime juice, ORS, olive oil and a pinch of porosity control conditioner and put it on for around 15 min(my scalp started itching and i wasn't sure if i was having a reaction)

it seems to have ended my abnormally high shedding and made my hair feel thicker and fatter. it also feels a lot stronger in general. not sure how long this effect will last.

last week when i dc'ed i mixed some stuff because i had a sample packet of conditioner, that i needed to stretch. i used some Ion Moisturizing Treatment, a little corner of Suave Naturals Vanilla and Sugar condish i had, a spoon of olive oil, a small spoon of coconut oil (trying to rid of it), some honey, and Aphogee 2 Minute Keratin. i really liked it! for once my hair felt moisturized AND strong. i will be mixing moisture, protein, and oil from now on. ♥

My usual additions are castor oil, evoo, evco, wheat germ oil (recently... still trying to get used to the scent), honey, yogurt, glycerin... I think that's it

PS: I usually don't add all of these at once, but those are what I choose from.

I just made my own mixture of:

Elastic QP DPR-11
Pure Extra virgin olive oil
Castor Oil
Herbal Essence Hello Hydration
Carols Daughter Hair Tui Oil

my latest DC cocktail:
Lustrasilk SBMC as a base
some JOICO KPAK
a drizzle of honey, joboba and olive oil
a few pumps of aloe vera gel
and a heaping spoonful of homemade yogurt.

my hair definitely approves. :)

Oooops. I'm just seeing this question now. SAA strengthens and silkifies my hair and skin, yep, I also add it to my lotions. I've been using it for a few years now, I learned about ceramides around the same time. Both are staples.
