I was watching a youtube of a girl mixing a DC cocktail with a ton of stuff in it. I had never considered doing it, but it makes sense because your hair may need multiple things. So what's in your DC cocktail?

I did mine on Saturday and mixed

ORS replenish pak
Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor
Egyptian Gold protein
Chi Infra Treatment
Fat Hair "0" Calories Thickening Spray
Silicon Treatment
Then I oiled my scalp heavily with grapeseed oil

I always make DC cocktails. FH laughs whenever I have a plastic cap on asking what type of concoction do I have on my head now. My main mix is Skala fruit cocktail masque, Aussie 3 min, ORS replinishing, oilve oil, and honey.

This is my favorite DC mix:

  • Skala Fruit Cocktail masque (for all hair types)
  • Skala Jaborandi conditioner (for thin hair; adds volume)
  • Macadamia Nut oil
  • Vitamin E oil
I also have one that uses several more ingredients and I love it!

i never tried them together ORS and Aphogee 2min.. but i do them both seperatly, im gone try them in a cocktail with the Cholesterol.. Hmm

- A good moisturizing condish (SitriNillah, Humecto, Moisturfuze, etc)
- EVOO
- Wheat germ oil
- JBCO
- Sometimes neutral protein filler

If you go over to the Delightfully Delicious DC thread you'll see a lot of posts where Ladies list their DC mixes.

Hmmm, this sounds like a great idea. I might try Aussie 3 Minute with a little ORS Replenishing mixed with EVCO and Jojoba oil as a pre-poo.

A few drops of wheat germ oil is getting mixed up with Aphogee 2 Minute and then I might even add some to Humecto too.

I never mix conditioners, but I always add stuff. This last DC I used Skala JAborini and I mied it with honey, aloe gel, grapeseed oil, wheat protein and banana baby food. Hair was silky and tangle free!

banana baby food?:scratchch

Yes I had read on different sites that blending a well-ripened banana is good for shine, but that getting it out sometimes could be messy. So, when I joined this site I saw that some of the ladies used baby food instead. It was my first time using it, but it worked wonderfully. I've used the other items before, so I could tell the difference with the baby food.

The wildest deep conditioner I've done has envolved banana, peanut butter, honey and oils. I like to mix my protein and moisturizing treatments together.
Avocado, coconut milk, honey and oils. I think that is a more conventional mixture.

I like silicon mix, honey (lots!), avacado, banana baby food, olive oil or vatika oil whatever i have and I use a steamer its the bomb!

I use this as my dry dc every wash:

PM the detangler - the base
Aloe vera gel
camellia oil
a dash of wheat germ oil
a few table spoons of honey

base scalp with JBCO and put cocomut oil on hair for half an hour, apply the above like a relaxer.

Everything I do to my hair is a cocktail. I like to mix SAA, pathenol and an oil with at least 2 or 3 conditioners on a regular day. If I do a protein DC I will use Silicon Mix straight or the Pantene mask. This also helps me use up my stash.

Wen Fig & Pantene deep recovery Mask
Joico Kpak Intense hydration conditioner & Giovanni deep conditioner
Aussie 3 min & Suave Almond Shea butter conditioner

Ahh man..... its for shine?!? I have enough shine! I thought it was a protein and the only one my hair seemed to like. No wonder it likes it! Banana is probably not a protein at all!

I'm late, I just now started mixing coconut oil in my DCs.

I don't even "mix" my coconut oil with my DC. I put the DC on, then rub coconut oil through it.

Maybe I should try this "mixing" phenomena (lol) I guess I just never thought to do that. I figured everything I needed would already be in the DC.

VO5 Strawberries and Creme conditioner
Mayonnaise
Select one oil: Coconut Oil/Sunflower Oil/Olive Oil
Honey
Thanda Oil.

Sit under the dryer for 30 minutes, rinse, my hair feels like butter :drunk:

yes, mixing just makes sense once you learn that hair needs different things and that all conditioners are not created equal.

Where do you buy Egyptian Gold protein? Do you like it?

I get it at my local asian owned BSS. I like it alright, it doesn't have that miracle effect like the aphogee hard protein treatment, but I bought it originally after they removed the animal protein from aphogee. the Egyptian Gold has it in there.

Oh yeah, i forgot about the banana baby food. I use that when I make my home made caramelisation.
