So I looked but could not find the answer to my question. Seems like everyone either rollersets or blowdries when using this product.

I'd like to know if it's ok to airdry with this product and then flat iron...now that I sit here typing I'm thinking since this product blocks moisture in and out, it will take an extra long time to dry?

So I would like to airdry most of the way, and then blow dry if it's still damp the next day. Will the product still work fine or will I have to reapply right before flat ironing?

My results weren't so good when I tried to airdry with Sabino, then flatiron. Give it a try to see if it works for you.

What were your results? I don't want to try lol I won't be flat ironing again until the fall so I would like this one to be worth it. If I'm told to blow dry and then flatiron then that's what I'll do lol

:lachen:Yeah, then I would blowdry and flatiron for great results!

Hi LaFemmeNaturelle,

I am the original developer of Moisture Block.

Moisture Block is illegally made by another company using our trademark, not by Sabino so we can not guarantee the quality. We are in a huge lawsuit to stop sales of MB. We now make Lok & Blok, which we have found is easier to spread evenly through the hair and when applied wet and then after dried, flat irons so easily and it holds up tremendously in any climate. Its no longer required to use 450 degrees when flat ironing.

Those who have issues with our product are usually misusing MB or L&B. They try to use the product the same as all water soluble products, which diffuses the highest potential for their hair.

L&B does is not a binding or curl defining product. Its job is to strictly protect hair from reversion in any climate. After all, it’s about how your hair looks by the end of each day instead of how it looks only when you have finished styling. You will have to use a strong gel over L&B and as it dries do not disturb and just prior to drying, about 75%, spray your hair with hairspray. When finished, apply a little more L&B and rake through with your fingers. The next day, simply mist with a little water, rake your fingers through your hair, and add a touch of L&B and your good to go.

Please inform everyone to visit our site, www.gotfrizz.com. Its not just about our product, the site really goes into explaining about what hair and hair products can and can't do. Its great education as many women have been misguided over years from hair product manufacturers.

I have been a hair designer for 35 years and I also have many AA clients of all textures.

Hope that this helps and that I won't be booted from LHCF again for advertising ... bummer.

Victor,
I've always wondered about this product if "moisture block" means that it will block moisture from the hair that's needed.
Could you please clarify this.
I've had a sample for over a year and am not sure if it's safe to use. :ohwell:

There are people that still have the authentic original moisture block. How can the OP use it to get the best results.

This is exactly what I do - air dry and then flat iron. I put my moisturizer on first, then the Sabino Moisture Block (the original that I bought before they changed the formula). I put my hair into twists - maybe 12-20, and air dry overnight, usually 12 hours or longer. My hair is pretty much dry by then. The next day I flat iron with the Maxiglide. I have done this on my own hair 3 times so far with great results. When I finish flat-ironing, I put just a little more SMB on my hair. It holds up well for at least 4-5 days (which is rather miraculous for me).

Hi
TwistNMx,

That's why we changed the name to Lok & Blok. Everyone made the same statement. "Why do I want to block moisture from my hair.?"

We struggled with trying to come up with a name that truly fit but every time we did it never seemed right. The product is so different because it is the only non-water soluble product for hair but it does come out with any shampoo.

Lok & Blok! Locks in the essential moisture that your hair needs for strength and flexibility while blocking out excess moisture that swells the hair shaft making it frizzy instead of brittle. Your hair only needs 10 to 11% moisture content. The rest evaporates because the hair shaft can only hold so much moisture.

The best moisture that you can put in your hair is water from your shower. Products that supposedly moisturize hair are wasted money.

Conditioners can only attach to the cuticle layer for 2 to 3 hours until they either dissipate in dry climates or dilute in humidity. Salon intense conditioning treatments are a waste as well. They make your hair "feel good" until it dissipates or dilutes.

The true test of how a conditioner works or "repairs" (impossible) is to shampoo your hair a day or two after the treatment without putting anything in your hair and letting it dry naturally. That's the true condition of your hair. Keratin treatments and conditioners are great fillers but that's all. They fill the holes in everyone's hair like putting spackle on a hole in the wall, L&B is the paint. Hair color does the same thing but lasts longer because it is chemically penetrated deeper into the cortex.

We changed the packaging because we had a lot of complaints about leakage and that the old dispenser was messy. We even included a travel stem to place in the nozzle of the pump when traveling.

Hope that this answers your question.

Hi *CherryPie*,

I suggest using L&B but a little more. If you’re flat ironing, then apply a little extra when your hair is dried just prior to flat ironing.

If you wear your hair naturally curly, always use a strong gel over L&B as you would with the original formula. When dried, rake a little more L&B through the hair for extra protection.

I always suggest using satin pillow cases but many women don't like them either because they're hot or their head slips off. We have high quality satin cases that do not have that slick feel and shine to the material but still protects you hair against friction, which is one of the biggest reasons for breakage.

If they let me stay on this forum, I would be happy to assist anyone with any type of hair question or need. If they ban me again, you can reach me at [email protected] or go to www.gotfrizz.com for tons of FAQ's to bring back to the great forum.

Thank you for hearing me out.

Best Regards,

Sabino

Hi yamilee21,

If it works for you .... great! We all have to find our own combination, it sounds like you found yours ... good job.

nobody's going to buy the L&B when we have the sabino moisture block. she just wants to know how to use the moisture block, not the L&B.

stop trying to sell us L&B.:lachen:

I apply while hair is damp, twist and put a damp towel on my head. Sleep with a plastic cap. Blow dry (add a bit more before i do this in sections), then flat iron at 450 degrees. BEAUTIFUL HAIR, and mine in KINKY and THIN. Now my hair has changed a bit since I've do it, it's not as kinky any more and I find that I need to use less and less Lok n Blok (formely Sabino MB).
