There are lots of suggestions on how to figure out your shape. These include everything from outlining your face shape on a mirror with lipstick to draping it with a towel and asking others to help you guess the shape. But, there is actually a scientific way to determine your face shape once and for all.
To find out the shape of your face, measure it with a tape measure or ruler. You will take the following measurements.

1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.
2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.
3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.
4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.

Oval Face - Length equal to one and a half times width.
Round Face - Your face is as wide as it is long. This may vary a little but generally the measurement is close.
Oblong - Longer than it is wide.
Heart - Narrow at jaw line, wide at cheekbones/and or forehead.
Square - your face is about as wide as it is long.
Diamond - Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.

I can see heart shaped...But I think Oval because from the picture you do not appear to have a pointed (sharp) type chin but more rounded.....For instance my chin is wayyyyy sharp lol

I went for oval for a similar reason. Your face is more rounded at the bottom and top. That's what I could see in your picture anyway lol. Luckily, oval faces can go short, long, or medium in hair length and get away with it rather well lol!

it's hard to tell from the picture you posted. can you post a pic with your hair up in a pony tail or bun? that way we can see your true hairline and judge from there. from the pic, you look oval/heart shaped to me (it's quite common to have more than one shape--you'll just have to decide which is dominant and roll with it)

I voted oval as well but I can see where you could also be a heart......I didn't really know about face shapes & I would describe my face as an upside down egg shape wide on top & narrow on the bottom. I guess that would make me a heart shape. Cool chart kbragg

Kbragg, do you have a picture of you not smiling?
That would help us out better.
I actually had to assess people's face shapes in my course last week.
From what I can see, you're oval, because you don't have areas of your face that are wider or pointier than others.

For everyone that says heart shaped, in reality, a heart shaped face has a very narrow, or pointy chin, it's just like a SQUARE face, but with a pointy chin at the end.... it usually makes a definite heart.
Also, heart shaped faces have broader foreheads and taller foreheads because that's where most of the face action is going on... to compensate for the tiny chin area...

Ok here's me not smiling (Caleb is knocked out LOL!)

Eta: keep in mind my face is fatter since I'm pregnant lol which is why I posted a pre preg photo:nono:

For a visual clarification, I enlarged the oval face and superimposed it over yours:

Guess I'm the only one that thought heart.

I think it's my hairline (my widow's peak creates the illusion of a heart) that throws it off. It's a fake heart:lol:

My chin is too rounds for a heart though. Wish I had a sharper chin because my round chin has the tendency to double up with even the least amount of weight gain whereas sharper chins tend to look lean no matter what:yep:

Oooh I look cute as a half human half cartoon!:giggle: So this means I can shave my head and still look cute right?:sekret::lachen:

If you shave your head for no good reason, I'm going to point and laugh. And I'll tell everyone you have a conehead when viewed from the side.

:lachen: Could be! I have an oval shaped face too, and though I didn't always think so, I seem to be able to pull off pretty much any kind of hair style from longer to super short. Though I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to shave the whole thing... again! :lachen:

I did it once before!

Guess I'm the only one that thought heart.

I picked heart too, though I was conflicted between that and oval. I think the widow's peak made me lean toward heart-shaped. :yep:

:lachen: nonie.. OMG @ your visual...

but i vote oval.. and also, you can go for a heart too. in fact, most of the time when people have "heart-shaped" face, they usually have the widows peak as a hairline.. just something i've noticed.
