hey all,
i've been hearing lots about this product line and its carried at target. who uses it and lurves it? i plan on doing twist/braidsouts and wash and gos for the summer and am thinking about picking up a few of these products.

I have their shampoo and conditioner. I only used them 3-4 times but they did a very good job. Comparable to my staples minus the price tag plus my hair luuuvs protein so too much moisture for me to use weekly.

I tried the moisture retention shampoo & corresponding masque. The shampoo really stripped my hair. The masque was so so. I only used them once so I may try again down the line. Sometimes if I use products a second time I get a different result.

mill creek and ao are my staples for poo/condish so i want to try their styling products. i also regular use the komazacare hardcore protein about once a month. I'm running low on afroveda whipped gelly and want to try a few other styling products and have other options. whats the price point on these products? I see on Target's site everything is out of stock and you can't buy them from the sheamoisture site either.

All of the products are $9.99. I bought them at my local target. If you have a Target in a "urban" neighborhood, you'll more than likely find them there. I didn't see them at the Hollywood target by my job.

i'm loving them so far.:grin::yep::grin:

the ones i tried are:

shea moisture organic raw shea butter restorative conditioner
shea moisture organic raw shea butter deep treatment mask
shea moisture organic african black soap balancing conditioner

the ingredients & scents are right; the price is reasonable (given the ingredients); & the moisture retention is definitely up my alley. now they're not what i would call a slippy product, more thick & rich ... but definitely moisturizing. the first two work great as a moisturizer/styler for twists, braids or out styles. the last one is a great co-wash (but bottles too small for me, to become a staple for that). overall though, they're a great find.

I have the SheaMoisture Deep Treatment Masque, SheaMoisture curl enhancing smoothie, and
SheaMoisture conditioning curl&style milk. I have only used the milk. The first time I applied it and sealed with Qhemet AOHC. It felt nice before bed, the next morning no moisture retention! Last night I applied it and sealed with coconut oil. No moisture retention this morning! I'm going to try it alone and with a few more sealants and after that I'm going to give it up! So far no love for the milk!

I saw these in Target earlier this week and the PJ in me was ITCHING to buy them BUT I showed some restraint and decided to see what the verdict was here before I purchased. So I will be following this thread....

I bought the following-

Raw Shea restorative trauma masque (what a name!)
Coconut Hibiscus hold shine daily moisture
Coconut Hibiscus curl and style milk

Masque- I like the masque, like someone else said there's not much slip but it moisturizes my hair. Actually, if you add some EVOO that provides slip. I don't need it right now because my hair is in a TWA. I may buy it again. It's a decent amount for $10, and I love the ingredients- shea butter and argan oil.

Hold shine daily moisture- One of my standbys right now. I keep my little heater on in on in my office (its cold!) so it can get dry by midday. This product puts the moisture back in my hair. I like it, but it's not a "must" have. At least not now. Oh, and there is absolutely no "hold" in this product.

Curl and style milk-
at first I thought this was the perfect product for me when I was transitioning, and it was. It kept my new growth really soft and moisturized and was just enough moisture for my relaxed ends without making them feel weighed down. Now that I have a TWA, it just doesn't give me enough moisture. I rather use Giovanni leave in direct and follow it up with some EVOO, and/or Qhemet's Burdock root cream. I won't purchase this one again.

Oh, and I have 4a hair that tends to be on the drier side.

Update:
Last night I DC'ed with the SheaMoisture Deep Treatment Masque - I LOVED it, it was heavenly (the smell is sooo strong, it doesnt use artificial fragrance it contains all these flowers for fragrance, and they are a bit much, but I still love the results)
I moisturized with water/glycerine and used SheaMoisture Curl Milk as a sealant...my hair is so soft right now! It feels wet, but its not...I luv when my hair is like that, that means it retained moisture! So for now I will use the milk as a sealant rather than a moisturizer.

I've only used the Conditioning Milk and I luv it! It does so right by my hair. I use it as a daily moisturizer and as a leave in. It leaves my hair so soft, fluffy, moisturized and never greasy.

I have 4A, coily hair.

I was thinking about these today......I may have to pick them up I was looking online because I have not found them in my local Target ...may have to venture out

I have used the deep conditioner masque. I like it a lot, it is definately a good product for the price. I also have the coconut and hibiscus hair milk. It works fine; it does not wow me but its decent. I am not sure if I would repurchase it.

Sitting under the dryer right now with the Deep Treatment Masque in my hair. I mixed some Wheat Germ Oil in with it as well. So far so good. The smell is a little overpowering though........

I have the Moisture Retention Shampoo, Shea Butter Deep Trt. Mask, and Curl Enhancing Smoothie.

I used these products on my daughter's 4z hair last night and did a two-strand twist set with the Smoothie. Her hair came out sooooo soft and moist. I will def. keep using these products.

ive used the curl milk and the shea mask. so far i really like the mask. i used it on dry hair for an hour and my hair loved it. its not the type of texture i would use on wet hair, for my hair this thick stuff needs to be soaked in on dry hair.
so far i dont like the milk. ive only used it once but my hair was dry by the end of the day but i will try it again.

i have been searching for the curl smoothie and cannot find it but i will search again tomorrow.

Anyone tried the curl smoothie?

This is my fave from the line. I will be giving the rest to others in my natural hair group when we do a product swap. LOVE the smell of the curl smoothie. Love the way it makes my curls pop, shine and hold. I use it on top of Victoria's Secret So Sexy Nourish as a leave-in. LOVE IT TO DEATH! STAPLE!

I use the raw shea butter restorative mask as a leave-in and it really keeps my hair moist for days. The 12 oz jar really goes a long ways too; it'll last me for a few months.

For my transitioning hair, I like the Raw Shea Moisture Retention Poo/Masque--however, I like the masque as a styler rather than a DC--for mny DC, I can't stray from my Elasta QP Intense! I also have the Hold & Shine Moisture Mist and it moisturizes my new growth like nobody's business...however, I get somewhat of a 'sticky' feeling afterwards that I don't particularly care for, so may be switching once I use it up. I have yet to find a GOOD mositurizer for my hair.

*clears throat* back on topic, I just bought the Restorative Conditioner to see how I like that.

I saw it today at target....and online..I haven't tried anything but it is on my list of things to try.:drunk:

There a lot of excellent reviews on youtube.

My hair looks at this product as pure protein, Wish I knew what I know now about it. Before it caused a huge set back for me that caused me my waist length hair. Long story but this was the underlaying cause. I used the masque, I reviewed it on my blog also. It should say SheaFortifying cause there was no moisture provided by this product for my hair.

Anyone tried the curl smoothie?

I picked some up yesterday and twisted my hair with it. Maybe I got the wrong sheamoisture product, but I'm not impressed with it. It is definitely inferior to Oyin Whipped Pudding in terms of moisturizing and softening the hair. It smells really nice, though, and you get a lot of it for a reasonable price.

I tried the raw Shea maque twice. I didn't like it either time, I will try it again with heat and let you know.

I did like the curl smoothie, it takes some pratice to use though.

Yeah baby went back and got the restorative condish and hibiscus milk. You get slip with the condish in the pump.

I used the deep treatment masque and hated it. It left buildup on my hair that I had to wash my hair so many times before that crap came off.

I tried the deep moisture masque and it didn't moisturize my hair. When I use a DC that works for my hair, detangling is much easier. Not this time. I had a hot mess on my hands!
