Who decided that this stuff works? Were are the results? How effective can something be if it costs a dollar? What started this band wagon? Again, WERE ARE THE RESULTS?

All I see are pictures of hauls but not of the "wonderful" results that anyone is having with these products . . . just curious as I won't be throwing away my "dollar", I'm not a wagoneer

Well I used the Fruit Cocktail. It was ok I guess. I think it kinda made my hair smell like plastic. Kinda like doll hair? My hair was pretty soft this morning though.

Don't look at the haul...read thru the results and testimonials of those who are using the product on the SKALA thread. There are a couple of people who have posted pictures.

Heaven help the person who does not TRY SOMETHING FOR THEMSELVES and just jumps on a bandwagon for the sake of jumpin'!?!?!?
For me and my hair it works. I tried it and for the price it is better than items I've paid 5 times as much for, but again that is just MY HAIR.
oohhh and it's been on the boards since 2003, it's just now coming around for the 3rd or 4th time, so it really isn't anything new...just more of us are into it I guess. With $$ being tight..(maybe just for me) finding a product that works and won't break the bank is a HUGE plus.

I decided that it works because I've used it on my hair and it does. I can't speak for another person's hair strands though. To me, cost doesn't equate how effective or ineffective a product can be. I also like VO5 and it works wonders for me and I also get it less than one dollar. So each person has to try it out, if they like it cool if not, such is life. Many expensive products have gained name recognition and has become garbage collecting dust in my cabinet because I bought into the promotion of the product as opposed to the actual quality of the product. If I take pics of my wonderful results, it doesn't mean that it will be wonderful for others, it just means it was wonderful for me.

I like Skala and I'm glad I was introduced to her. She is my friend.

Ok, so I'm back from my brazilian adventure and I'm stoked!

I got everything on my wish list, except for chocolate which they are ordering for me and will have next week!

I took some pics of my haul from the store

and the last pic is my complete stash. I could not take them out and stack them because I don't have enough room anywhere. They are triple stacked in the tub. I'd say at least 75+ bottles/jars of Jabba, Shea and G3 cons, G3 and Shea shampoos, G3 and Shea leave ins, G3, Aloe, Shea and Fruit Cocktail masques...tis all

And if anyone wants the Jaborandi masques, Extra Lisos, or Gloss just let me know. Or if there's one on the shelf you want, let me know and I can go pick it up. Hitting up the other brazilian stores manana

You ladies are such enablers :lachen:

I may put it away in the china cabinet and bring it out for special occasions! :yep:

OMG I hit the motherload! I'm at my brazilian store now and they have the gloss, extra lisos, cristal and others in the big tubs. I'll pick some up for ya'll :)

Well since this is a thread requesting pictures of your "Skala Haul" it would stand to reason that one would find that kind of info in here. I was proud to present mine. As far as results I've only used them twice and I posted my comments in another thread about Skala products. I too would think that for $1 the product can't be all that great but I'm glad that I gave it a try. I noticed that my tangles seem to melt away when using this product (I've used the G3 condish and the Shea masque). That in itself is a plus for me being a coily natural. Yes, I did go a little overboard:blush: but at the end of the day if the products aren't all that great then I've only paid $1 which is what I pay for VO5. I can always use Skala for co-washes, to wash out my hendigo treatments, to add to other products to stretch them for pre-poos or deep cond or gift them or give to my nephew to make sure that he is taking better care of his hair. I'd rather invest $1 each than $15- $50 each (and I've done that too) to find out that the products aren't that great.

We don't have a big lots here, and im a recovering pj. Just curious:look:.

Oh sorry...

Well I used the Fruit Cocktail. It was ok I guess. I think it kinda made my hair smell like plastic. Kinda like doll hair? My hair was pretty soft this morning though.

The FC was just ok for me too. I probably won't use it again.

I completely agree with the bolded especially. Can't tell you how many times I've seen pics of people's hair after they tried a rave product then I try it and it sucks! This is just one of those things where you have to go out and try it for yourself and I don't feel bad for telling people that because it's just a DOLLAR and no shipping! I don't know why people pop in and want to be so convinced and shown evidence over a dollar conditioner. Just cut out one extra Starbucks coffee, go buy a bottle of Skala and come join the madness :spinning:.

Haha! That's what happened to most of us, we clicked on the link and got sucked right in, lol.

Girl where have you been? Skala and Biglots is all the rage :lachen:.

Daaanngg! I leave for 2 mths and come back and theres already a new hit that I dont know about!? LOL, well update: I ran out to big lots yesterday and grabbed me a couple!:lachen: They only had the aloe vera ones. Im gonna try it, even though Im kinda hesitant about the petroleum!

So you ladies that are crazy about it, what types of benefits have you received from using on a regular basis? Any natural ladies using it? It looks like it'd be awesome to use as a sealer in the winter months!:yep:

I have been using this for a few days and it works really well on my hair, like Elucence or Trader Joe Nourish spa.

I'll take a great product and not worry about the cost :yep: being too low.

The linked thread above has been going for years, long before Skala could be found at big Lots for only $1.

I don't knock Big Lots because some of the hair products there are higher end ones that have had packaging changes and are worth significantly more that the purchase price.

I'd post some pics of my hair but I'm too lazy - it does look and feel really nice though!!

Benefits for me are moisture and SOFT hair. This is the softest my 4b hair has EVER been consistently. I am lightly texlaxed. I use Skala daily and I feel like the great results are cumulative. You'll experience the goodness on the first try but it gets better the more you use it. Also, it doesn't seem to be one of those products that are great in the beginning and then fizzles out. I just keep on getting great results.

......my Suave conditioner is the best conditioner I've ever used on my hair (though the G3 skala is potentially vying for a tie number 1 spot), and it cost me a buck and seventy-two cents............

Here's my meager stash...................(not pictured are the 5 SB condishes patiently waiting for me at my mom's :yay:) Sorry for the small pic, I don't know how to make it bigger..

I made the decision that Skala works for my hair. You are not seeing results in this thread because the OP asked for pictures of our products, not results.

I'm not a wagoneer

Buying lots of Skala must somehow be different from buying lots of......let's say nail polish.

The masques are hard for me to find, every one I have I found by looking either in a different aisle or mixed in with other random stuff.

Thank you for the tip, I usually just look on the Poo aisle if I don't see it, then I leave, but I didn't take into consideration it could be hidden behind other things:wallbash:... On another mission Monday:lachen:.

Now you know you can't leave home on Monday :lachen:, you gotta wait for the postman or woman :lachen:.

I'm sure you're going to LOVE the G3 masque! I know I LOVE the G3 conditioner.......you have both soooo consider yourself a lucky skala owner with somebody out there envious of your haul :lick::grin:

I only bought 1 leave in - G3 is the only leave in I can find locally.

I usually add back a little conditioner as my leave in.

I am officially ashamed...I initially went shopping found 4 Fruit Cocktails, 1 C3 Shampoo and 1 Avocado Shampoo.....which as far as the poos go I will prolly never use...so crazy bought just to buy

I went to 5 Big Lots.....

My sweet tail dh was so sad that I was feeling defeated he decided to stop at a couple on his way from the shop and he surprised me with some when he got home....

Our combined Haul

skala.jpg

The sad part in all of this....I have never tried this stuff...why was I hunting it down???
I may hate it.....But I will never tell him that....because I wouldn't want him to feel sad and ask....You have been driving all over the city and you never even tried it

Tish I love it!!! and your Hubby Rock!! He did good for his first haul :yep: Hell actually he did this thang...:woot::dance7::dance7:Girl don't worry guarantee you will love it...

But, yeah....he did Good.....

Thank you!
