i hate making threads about my problems, but i'm really frustrated at this point.:wallbash:

in both march and may i did not get any growth-from the scalp. growth aids, vitamins, nothing was working.
i am retaining what i have *cough*forthemostpart*cough* but there is nothing actually growing, and i don't know why.

someone on fotki asked when i had my son because those hormones could still be at work messing with my hair growth. i had him in oct 7 of last year. i didn't get that "pregnancy growth", and once he was born, i only shed in one part of my hairline (which has grown back since).

i'm getting fed up of not being at a claimable bsl (i wear my strap right under the shoulder blades), so i fear that i'm at terminal length.
what do you think?

i said for the most part cause my son likes pulling my hair now:lachen:

For hair not growing from the scalp that signals an internal problem. Have you been to the doctor?

Are you 100% sure it's not growing from the scalp? Are you relaxed or natural?

You should wait at least 2 years before thinking anything about reaching terminal length :yep: Maybe your hair is in a resting phase. I say don't stress out about it... stress can also stunt hair growth. It could be that you're over doing it as well...simplify!

I think your hair is growing!!! And it may not be growing 1/2 inch per month, but it's growing....just not so much that you notice it.

And not to get all in your business, but are you breastfeeding? B/c your hormone levels stay "out of whack" during BFing too.

Big hugs out to you, girl!! I know it's frustrating, but keep retaining what you have. Your body takes at least a full year to recover after having a baby!! Not to mention all the stress you are under with a new baby around. Hang in there. You may get a summer spurt to make up for these slow growing months.

Do you have pics for the time frame when your hair is not growing. Sometimes when you compare pics you can see a change in your hair you normally wouldn't notice.

transitioning w/ bkt. i'm always watching the pot:look: so i KNOW when i see a lil bud. i figured since i'm drinking more water & exercising, & taking vits, i'd have more growth than when all i used were growth aids.

i only grow 1/4" per month naturally, so anything less is pretty much no growth at all. my son stopped wanting to breastfeed, but i'm still lactating although it's slowing down (tmi, sorry)
a whole year to get right? i wanna be wl by then! :ohwell:

from the pics i do have, i've been around the same length for months

Hey girl! You still lactating so your hormones may still be stabilizing as well. Also, as someone said, your hair my be in a resting stage. I would be pissed too :wallbash: I think you should give it more time. i know its hard. :bighug:

thanks ya'll. i'll keep it out of sight for a while that way i'm not watching the pot. plus retention is a major priority right now. once it starts growing again, i'd hate to have to regrow what i lost.

I know it's not a popular idea but One sure fire way to find out . . . take a small section and apply color to the root or new growth and see.
