Just wanted to get a general consensus. Also, just for fun, what kind of comb do you use?

I comb or brush everyday. I use a regular shower comb or one of those wide tooth combs from the bss.

if i'm wearing it down, maybe twice a day. if its in a protective style, none. i usually use a bone comb and a shower comb to comb my my hair.

I voted twice a day or more because I style every morning and I roll my hair with satin sponge rollers at night which requires that I use a comb. I use a variety of combs including the Jilbere shower comb, an extremely wide tooth comb, and a rake style comb that I love.

My hair is natural, and I normally wear it in a two strand twisted bun. I sometimes wear it curly. Either way, I only comb (fingers and/or Denman brush) my hair on wash day to detangle, which is once a week.

I'm glad you asked. This year is my year to put down the comb, and use fingers instead. This is so hard, when you're use to combing every day. *sigh* My hair is fragile, and can't stand too much combing. I've had way less pulling and breaking using my fingers. When I just can't resist the temptation to comb (for detangling/styling) I'll use my new bone comb. It works wonders on my hair! I'm trying to limit combing to once, not more than 2ce a week.

I comb my hair everyday. If I'm wearing a bun I have to redo it daily. If I don't comb it out it gets all tangled. :(

Yep, yep, that's it right thur!!!LOL.

I use that as well. It's especiall good for new growth. It's like a pick/ wided tooth comb.

Oh, and usually twice a day. When I have a good amount of newgrowth I comb root to tip maybe twice a week at the most. I try to avoid it but not too much for fear of matted hair or worse locked hair at the roots.

Everyday. I co-wash everyday and I comb the conditioner thru my hair with a jibere (or whatever it's called) shower comb.

I have no set combing schedule, but I do not like to comb frequently and tangles do not bother me, since I do not have the type of hair one should be running one's fingers through. I comb whenever the tangles in my hair threaten to turn to knots or affect the neatness of my hair, which is roughly every three weeks. Always, I use a wide-tooth comb.

Once every month/two months. I wear my hair braided up in extensions and less manipulation the more my hair thrives (:

Eek way too much! I have a bad tendency to comb my hair when I'm bored. . .plus I like to play in my roots (I'm transitioning). I'm going to try to cut it down to twice a day- once in the morning to style and at night to wrap/roller set it.

I use that same comb! Mine is by Goody, and it's black. I comb my hair only on wash days, which is every 3-4 weeks (transitioning & wearing hair braided beneath wigs). I agree with others, since I cut back on the combing and manipulation years ago, I have seen much beautiful progress with my hair.

Every 4-6 weeks...frequent co-washing, water and oil rinsing helps remove shed hair since I only have seven inches of hair.

Wash days, first with a very wide-toothed comb and then with a smaller-toothed comb to get the snags the wide-toothed comb may have missed.
