Big Hit:

HEMPSEED OIL *loaded with Ceramides....Shine like none other*

Totally Amazing.................:lick:

*now, if only it didn't stink like farm animals*:lachen:

Semi-miss: Silk Elements Olive Oil Megasilk Conditioner

Idk, the Olive Oil version doesn't do it for me like the original does. Or maybe it's because I'm almost 8 weeks post. I'll try it again with a fresh relaxer and see how it behaves. My hair LOVES the original Megasilk regardless of how many weeks post I am.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner: Super Hit

I haven't really tried any new products lately, but I cosign on this one. HEHH has never failed for me, the product has literally been the best thing for wearing my hair curly.

I agree 100% trying to get rid of the Olive Oil one by using it in my son's hair now the creme tub :lick::lick::lick::lick::lick: no getting his hands on that :)

Nature's Brew Hair Butter, Ultimate Body Butter, and Mango Coconut Cream

Hairveda Moist PRO - this smells soooo good!!!!

MISS

Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol and mango 20.oz Its not a big miss, just really mediocre. It doesn't smell nice, not that it smells terrible. Smells like a very faint Jamaican white rum, and plastic candy mango, might as well put some dude with dead locks on the bottle. I'm going to throw some suave rosemary mint in it to make it smell better, be better. It had so many good ingredients, like wth, maybe i should clarify

HIT-
HE HH: now, i know a little while back, i said i was starting to dislike HE products. i had to rethink that today and i think that the TMS just sucks. i used the HH as a rinse and i detangled with it. it was awesome. it gave me a lot of slip and was easy to rinse out once i was finished. i'm still on the fence about how i feel using it as a leave in when i do wash'n'gos too, but i will experiment with that again some other time. i'm still ready to try something new though. i may revisit this in the future if i don't find something i like better. ♥

lol Yeah I'm sad. What a waste. I have almost a full tub. I'm going to have to mix it with something else because after seeing my hair today (1 day post wash), it's junk to me.

MISS:

HE Hello Hydration...Absolutely no slip, no moisture, felt like I was coating my hair as I put it on and didnt feel the penetration.

Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner...Same thing. No slip, It did feel good when washing out of my hair but its just not cutting through 4 months of NG. Cant deal with that.

Hit: Roux Porosity Control

I see why you guys rave about this. I decided to try it b/c my hair has been really dry lately (and Trinidad's hard water certainly didn't help my situation). I used it (for ONLY 30 seconds, per the instructions) after I clarified. My hair felt so good--better than when I do an ACV rinse. It had a very nice sheen to it, and my twistout was curlier.

For me:

Major Hits:

Silicon Mix conditioner
Baba de CaCacol Conditioner
Baba de Caracol Leave-in Conditioner

Miss:

ION Curl Defining Conditioner - this conditioner only made my hair feel a little rough, yuck! I may give it another try sometime later and see what happens.

hit: dudley's drc28
best reconstructor, hands down!!!!!!!!!!

Oooh Kurlee, I have this on my hair right now. This is my first time using it again in at least 3 or 4 years. I had put it down for Aphogee 2 Step but my hair hates it so I had to give it away and repurchase the drc28.

I will see how much my hair still likes Dudley's DRC28 and report back later:yep:.

Miss: ION swimmers shampoo. Talk about some stripped hair.

Hits: wheat germ oil. Aubrey organics white camellia

oohh you should have gotten the hard water shampoo. i lathered w/ this twice and my hair didn't feel stripped at all. I've been using this for about 4 months now and it's great. it's also considered a clarifying shampoo.

A tiny update:

I have my moisturizing conditioners in my hair and will leave them in for the rest of the day. The reason being, after washing out the DRC28, my new growth shrunk to a tiny little fro and it felt really really strong and kinda hard.

I expected as much so I decided to DC all day into tomorrow morning when I will wash it out. So far I like the strength o fmy hair after the DRC treatment but I will watch it over the course of the next few days and see how my hair reacts.

So far though, I'd say the DRC28 is a HIT:yep:!

Hits
Joico moisture recovery balm-Finally tried sample tube last month.
I'll just say I know now what the fuss is all about

Ouidad comb- sucker came in 2 days.Gotta love Sephora. Effective on my ng without snapping strands(dry hair).I need a finer comb still for my relaxed hair though. I like the heaviness:yep:

Sally Hirshberger texturizing cream
- nice ingredients and just what I need to smooth down my hair without stiffness

HIT-Hawiian Silky 14-in-1 (I mentioned this on another hair board). I thought it was going to make my hair either 1. look like a jheri curl or 2. leave a thick coating over my hair. How every it defined my curls and my hair was soft a smelled so good.

MISS- Miss Jessies Curly Meringue. This stuff left a thick hard film over my hair.

Hits:
moisturizing with Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream and HE LTR Leave-in- this combo is amazing! at first when i tried the BRBC, i didn't like it. i had tried it on dry hair, and it didn't feel moisturizing. well i decided to give it another go. twice i tried this combo just to be sure. i used it on wet hair. it was really creamy and it felt great on my hair. then over that, i put HE LTR Leave-in, and my hair turned to silk! its perfectly moisturized and shiny as heck. i am really feeling this. i'm gonna keep using these two moisturizers together until i run out. ♥

Keracare (all new formula)Humecto,Hydrating Detangling Shampoo,Silken Seal :woot: They should've changed the formula a long time ago!

MAJOR HIT: mozeke avocado creme. i have an 8 ounce jar that i'm about half done with (have had it since the beginning of this month) and i just re-ordered the 16 ounce container to make sure i never run out. applying about a quarter size scoop to each half of my head over kinky curly knot today gives me the softest and most moisturized buns. when i take my hair down at night it's not crunchy and i can tell that the product really sinks into my hair. love love love it.

another miss

Suave humectant
I picked it up and my mother was like  Suave... really? Why don't you buy the real thing (told her it was a knock off, and she thinks suave is a really cheap low preforming brand) I should have listen. Smells like coconut for no reason... it has no coconut in it. Not much slip, and doesn't moisture well. :( I really wanted to like this. :wallbash:

Yea, this was a HUGE miss for me too. It just coated my hair. I don't know if you've tried it, but Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner is really good conditioner for co-washing (if that's what you were using the Suave for)

Hit:

ACV rinses
Works extremely well at removing mineral deposits. Cured my porosity issues.

World of Curls (Gel) Activator for Extra Dry Hair
Left my hair soft and shiny. Easy to overkill with product though. Can leave hair a little gummy/sticky if not careful. Even then, when it finally absorbs into hair the feeling doens't last.

Juicing only-
I only use juice (s-curl, world of curls) and my hair has been really soft. I don't seal or use oils.

Tying a scarf down on my edges-
I don't use hair gel or styling products, but just using a scarf (while my hair is still damp) really helps the baby hairs stay down all day long. Initially I did it to keep the water off my face while my puff dried (works well for that too).

Avoiding mineral oil and petroleum-
It's not that I have a problem with these ingredients. It's just that I wanted to see if my hair could do well without them, and it has. I think I will permanently avoid these ingredients. My hair is doing so well now that I'm using strictly water-based, breathable products. I will be going back to oiling my scalp with castor oil though.
