I just recieved the £79.99 Janu steamer. I used it on Tuesday. It was good, but it was quite hard to get the steam to reach all of my hair, because the steam travels through a pipe from the water inlet and only comes out of one outlet in the actual steamer hood. Cue lots of having to move around to try and get the steam on all parts of my hair. The front of my hair is now lovely and moisturised after having been directly under the steam outlet, but my ends are dry as the steam didnt reach them. The unit is quite easy to put together, which is good as the instructions included make no sense at all. Verdict? Buy the £99.99 one. It'll probably do a better job overall, especially if you want a steamer to help with dry ends.

I think both aphrodite and jannu are the same but i think with the aphrodite the hood comes in pieces that you have to assemble (if not someone clarify this for me) as i would like to know if there's any difference. Personally for me i love my Jannu steamer, and i just clip my hair up so my ends get steamed or I put a light cloth on the hood to keep the steam in if my hair is down. I bought this one because my stand up one is too large for my space requirements lol for me it gets quite hot aswell

I didn't use a cloth, so that might work. Not sure about the Aphrodite as I only bought the Jannu, but the Jannu only steamed half of my hair and that's why I'd recommend a different one. If the Aphrodite is the same I don't know if there are others available - I couldn't find one. I couldn't get a stand up one either because my room is tiny!

It made a dramatic difference to the half of my hair that it actually steamed! My hair now looks shinier and feels softer. With all of the products I have used I have never been able to get my hair to feel this moisturised! If you want to try a steam treatment most black hairdressers (especially the older black ones) in the UK do steam treatments at quite a reasonable price. My old hairdresser used to swear by them but that was in my Lets Jam gel and Pink Oil days so I only had one treatment because I thought I knew better
. Even still I remember my hair felt great though and it kept the hair on my head during my mini transition. You might have to take your own conditioner in if you don't want them to use their own but at least you can try it out before you spend so much money.
