I actually find the OP's curls to be quite evident naked the only reason I mentioned gel was so it would be more obvious to others. We disagree...no biggie, she asked for our opinions she got a couple

Op, I think you should let your hair grow a little more to determine your hair type, most people find that they have more than just one curl type.

Just wanted to chime in. But one of the properties of 4A hair is that with product it can mimic 3C hair. This is the reason hair typing should be done on naked hair. Tatiana is correct.

Yes, curl size makes a difference but there are other properties to hair types as well.

I actually took a pic yesterday with gel...this was my first time using gel. I just took the pic to see what the back of my head looked like...funny how that worked out

Yesss!! Definitely a hair twin, and I'm thinking about coloring in the summer so you'll have to tell me how your hair reacts with the color and the juice! And yes mam, it looks as though I will be juicing very soon!

I actually went back to creamy crack. I was still working at the time and my job was giving me a hard time about it (I was the only black chick and they wasn't having it). So when I became a stay at home mom again I did everything you're not suppose to do to your hair (bleach, etc) and then chopped it off to go back natural when I was done having fun.

It's fine so far. I just colored it last week I think. I did a protein treatment today. I colored my hair the last time I was natural too...it's the only chemical processing I will do. I love color too much to let it go.

LOL. Since those pics I...was natural for 3 years, got a texturized that made my hair break off, grew out the chemical with the BKT for 2 years and now I'm chemical free (no relaxer, no BKT) with the majority of my hair heat trained. I'm too all over the place to give advice . J/K After the bad chemcial treatment I had to grow a new head of hair. In the past 2 years I've cut 7 to 8 inches of hair (thankfully I get like 8 eachs a year). So, I would say from bald to now it would take about 2 years.

My advice would be...do whatever you can do to keep your hair from breaking. For everyone it's different. Usually PS works great for naturals and wearing the hair stretched in some way to avoid tangles. I think I washed my hair too much. If I could do it over again I would only wash twice a month to avoid to much detangling and I would have blow my hair dry once I go to a decent length and then styled to avoid tangles. HTH
