I bought it, I dont like it, it looks too fake, what do I do with it?

I am going to Zambia in 3 days and I need to somehow have a decent head of hair. My natural hair, beautiful as it is, will shock the living day lights out of people in Zambia.

I dont know why I bought this wig. I could never put it on. My gosh, the things I do when I am PMSing:nono:

Maybe I will take it to Zambia for my sister. I will leave the wigs for a brave. I couldnt possibly wear a wig.

That being said, what should I do with my hair?

I will flatiron it for the trip but I am not sure I want to flat iron it the whole time I am there.

why would your hair shock the people of Zambia?
People there are still not eeducated on natural hair. It is associated with people not being able to afford relaxer and is also associated with kids/teens who are not able to relax yet.
When I graduated high school, I had a box of relaxer waiting for me at home, as soon as you are out of school, the first thing you do is relax your hair :nono:
So if I show up there in a braidout, people will look at me like:rolleyes:, especially since I am coming from Canada lol.
I want to go for a vacation, dont wanna be arrested for wringing someone's neck for a nasty comment they make about my hair.

A few days ago I was talking to my Aunt about the trip and she was like "Are you gonna go to Zambia like that?". I said, well maybe I will flatiron, but I will not relax it. Her response? "Yeah, that looks nicer, then that"...I was wearing a braid out:ohwell:

I know I shouldnt care what other people think, but my hair is the last thing I want to worry about.

I have Bali Girl, similar to Carmen. If you decide to keep the wig, store her for a couple of days on a wig head to let the style fall into place properly. I tend to hate a wig when I wear it fresh of of the package.

With Bali Girl, I pin her up, half up & half down, to make her look realistic.

I should have understood that from your original post. My family is from Ghana and even though I haven't been there in 17 yrs, they may not also like or care for natural on a grown woman. You should do what you want to w/ your own hair.

That looks lovely and very realistic.

Maybe take it to a hairdresser and have them customize it to look more natural and/or to fit your face.

When I travel, I will get braids, twist or cornrows. You can then enjoy your trip and not have to fuss over your hair.

Last resort, you can do the crochet hair. There are some tutorial on YT and many ladies have featured them here.

Good luck and have a safe trip.

I bought carmen last year, let her sit on a wig head, tried everything i could to get it to look nice, and I still hated it. It looked nothing like the picture.

Still dont know what to do with my hair :(
Oh well, when all fails I guess flatironing always works...maybe?

Have a custom wig made with bobraz hair or something similar. Or you can make it yourself.
