Right now as i type this to you guys, i am baggying my ends with coconut oil. The only problem is, i don't know if this is sufficient because i just started to do this so i don't know much about it.

So what do you baggy with?

When I do "Baggy" it's usually with a Creamy Water Based Moisturizer.

Then when I remove the Baggy, I will 'Seal' with some type of Oil. i.e. EVOO, EVCO, Avacado, Almond or JBCO.:yep:

I baggy with Aloe Vera Gel, Coconut Oil, QP Mango Butter, Donnies Softening Lotion and NTM Leave in. I do use different products from time to time, as I am game to try new products, and am getting rid of my stash. My staples are listed above, I use them in one combo or another.

Last night I used Philip B's Lovin Leave In, and Argon Oil. I have never used these products before, but I love the results. I always whole head baggy and I am natural.

i wanna kno too.
i baggy'd a few times with hawaiian silky 14 in 1 but idk if thats good enough? =/

:giggle: I don't think there's a rule to it. I baggy with nothing. Been doing it this way for as long as I can remember. Never had any issues with it. TBH, I think if I did it with products I'd break out something awful. The thought of products dripping down my neck and face make me feel like jumping into the shower *shudder*. I think my head would also itch like crazy.

Because you have plastic over your hair, it's not like you need to use anything special to protect your hair from moisture loss, so I'm not sure why the worry that you aren't doing enough. The idea of baggying is to keep hair from losing moisture.

I baggy nightly with Trader Joe's Nourish Spa mixed with water and then add olive oil. I started this after my BC and my hair is nicely moisturized in the morning and stays that way all day. I've never had any issues with dripping or anything. I make sure my hair is nicely saturated but not dripping wet. I never thought about baggying with nothing though...there's a thought...

nightly? really? has this prevented your hair from splitting and have your been retaining length?

I have two different baggying methods depending on how dry my hair is.

If my hair is feeling pretty moisturized, I'll put on HE LTR Leave-in and seal with camellia seed oil and do a ponytail baggy.

If my hair is feeling DRY, I'll put on Elucence Moisture Balance conditioner and seal with camellia seed oil and do a ponytail baggy.

I never really do a whole head baggy.

I do exactly what IDareT'sHair said....put on a very small amount of moisturizer, pin my hair up, slap the baggy on, and go to sleep. In the morning, rip the bag off, slap some oil or butter on, and bun it up.
Quick and simple.

But in my lazy times, I do what Nonie said...just grab a random bag from somewhere, put it on, and go to sleep. Nothing on it.

My hair is moister when I use moisturizer first, but doing it without works just fine too.
Specifically, I use SheScentIt CoCo Creme Leave-In, QB Amla and Olive Heavy Cream, QB Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm, TW Protective Mist Bodifier, Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1...anything moisturizing will do. I have used avocado butter and jherri curl juice too. The only thing I don't use under there is conditioner, because it always comes out badly.
hth.

bumping.. I want to know more about baggying.. what changes have you seen in your since you've stared this? How often do you baggy? Do you feel that you retain more length using this method?

Relaxed head checking in... I've been wearing ponytails all this week and baggying just the ponytail at night. I baggy with my normal nightly products - Skala Shea Butter Leave in (about a dime or nickel size amount) and Hollywood Beauty Castor oil (also about a nickel size amount.) I split my ends into 2 or 3 sections and place a roller at the end. I wrap the baggy only around the rollers. I cover the remainder of my hair with my wraps and go to sleep. In the morning, I have a well moisturized, but dry ponytail!

Naturals, are you all rinsing the conditioner out in the morning or just styling as usual? I trying to fight breakage.

Havent read the whole thread, but if u guys baggy w/cholesterol, what brand r u using? tia.

Enyo - I use my co-washing conditioner as a leave-in sometimes if I feel that my hair needs extra moisture or if I see some breakage.

I baggy with olive oil and a water and glycerin based moisturizer most of the time. If I feel my hair really needs extra moisture I use my Renpure Organics conditioner as a leave-in along with some olive oil, baggy with a shower cap, wrap my head with a satin or silk scarf and I'm off to bed.

I baggy about 5 nights a week and within the first week i started doing this (back in February) breakage stopped. I definitely see retention and more thickness and health in my hair as a result.

I'd guess those sleeping with conditioner probably do a WNG in the morning. Not sure though.

I don't use any product when I baggy so I just style and go in the morning.

I use a concocotion of
Olive oil
Sweet Almond oil
Tea tree oil
a few drops of peppermint oil ( I love the tingle)

a little leave in con Cantu Shea Butter
and water
I don't measure
I keep it all in a travel size spray bottle.
shake real good and spray

they I use a shopping bag as my baggie and tie it down with my silk scarf

But my hair is currently in a cornrow style so I don't have to concern myself with my hair in the morning, oh and my weaved hair likes the spary too!:yep:
