How Do You Protect Your Hair Underneath Your Wig?

I'm thinking of getting a wig made for me on a wig cap.

Does anyone know if its possible for the weave to be sown on a mens satin skull cap rather than a wig cap?

I will be cornrowing hair under neath every 3-4wks.

I wear french twists, and braid the lenght of my hair, and wear a wig cap. I wash my scalp (with diluted shampoo) and condition every day. Every 7 days I redo my twists, and on that day I use garnier frutice (sp) gel on my hair to hold the style. At night I sleep with a plastic shower cap on. This makes an overnight steam treatment. I love just throwing on a wig and leaving the house! with this method, I hardly have any breakage and there are NO tangles at all. The hair in my comb and brush combined are about the size or a quater or half dollar. I'm loving the wigs

This summer I am using the Netted Wig-Cap. Fall/Winter I used the Satin Men's DuRag.

So, I moisturize my hair to the Max and put on the netted cap. Sometimes I will spritz it with Qhemet's Karkady Herbal Tea Hair Mist.

Oh Yeah.....I've been using KBB, Mozeke, Aveda, BeeMine Hair Milk(s)/Cream(s) Underneath the wig cap.

I have a question. I just bought my first wig. I don't plan on wearing it daily, so will it affect my edges if I use a wig cap?

No wig cap for me. I plait my hair in 4- 6 sections. Making sure the front plaits are not close to my front edges. I wear half wigs and place it about 1 1/2 inches from my hair line. The comb fits snugg underneath the plaits. The front hair line is smooth down with a scarf. Before leaving for work I remove the scarf and cover the wig line with a head band or old pair of tights.
I moisturize my hair every night. In the morning before I apply my half wig I may spray with some braid spray .

I mostly put it in a ponytail and pin it as flat as possible with bobby pins. I then put on my wig cap. Occasionally, I will wrap my hair and then put on a wig cap. I mostly stick to the ponytail bc the wrap makes my hair too "big" underneath the wig.
