Ok lemme hurry up and post these cuz hubby is fussing at me that it's past bedtime:rolleyes: Southerners and their sleep I tell ya!:lachen:

Anyways, I'm pretty satified with them:yep: My parts aren't perfect, I didn't put them in nearly as tight as the braiders usually do, and there are a couple pieces that stick out but shoot, for a $4 hair style that'll last me 4-8 weeks, I likes:grin: I am so happy about my ends because I never could get the dang hot water thing to work but I did this time:yay: Ok here are my pics. It's 2am in the morning so sorry no make up and full on frump gear:lachen:

I plan to wear this as a protective style for as long as possible followed by Yarn Braids after a 2 week break between. Stretching my relaxer as long as possible....maybe indefinitely. Also hoping that by babying my edges in this style I can regrow them (don't know if I ever had them though lol)

Ok see ya tomorrow:lachen:

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it looks so good! you did a great job! just as good as them SHS!!!!! now you have a perfect protective style going on for only 4$, thats off the hook!!

i love sengalese twists! they look great. hmm, maybe i'll get some at the beginning of the summer? hmmmmmmmmmmmm...wish i could do them myself!

Very nice, Kb! And boy are they long. Hats off to you coz you are more patient/determined than I am! You did them all in one day?

And for that price, that was a steal!!!!

You are T-NINY lol Now back to the post. I LOVE your twists! They look great on you! I want braids for the summer...we'll see how this goes!

i love the way your hair looks with these twist is there any possibility for breakage my hair is weak but i need a new style?

Beautiful job! I'm in braids and hoping to try something different the next time I rebraid my hair.... I have a question for you. Is it easier to do the twist instead of the braids? And how long did it take you to do it?

Thanks again ladies!!!:bighug:

I think there's a possibility of breakage with any style. What I did though is I followed the Crown & Glory suggestions (growafrohairlong.com). I made sure not to braid too tight to the scalp (I actually braid a little loose on purpose which makes my braids look a little older at the scalp but shoot the only person I'm trying to impress is DH and he's clueless LOL! He grew up in a black neighborhood and still had no clue that weaves were not the woman's real hair:lachen:) and I use very little hair per braid. When I used to get my hair braided professionally, they'd braid so tight I'd get little bumps along the hair line and they're used 4+ packs of hair cut in half on my head. With this style I only used 2 1/2 packs (1 1/2 pack color 2, 1 pack color 1B/30) The braids are super light and soft.

Side not to Nonie, yeah they did come out longer than I expected:lachen: I have a horrible eye for length. When I first cut the pack in half I noticed it was too short to braid into my hair:yay: This is the longest my hair has ever been:grin: So What I did is I kind of staggered the two pieces. Still came out long as heck though:lol:

If it weren't for discovering twists I would never braid my hair:nono: Twists to me are prettier, look more natural, and are waaaaay easier to put in and take down. I start the braids like a regular braid and braid it down about an inch or so (cuz sometimes I'll forget I'm supposed to be twisting:lol:) and then twist the rest of the way. It makes a more secure knot that a regular 2 strand twist and is a LOT kinder on the hair like than a true Senegalese twist.

It took me like 2 days to finish because I still have to do the mom/wife/employee thing in between but I would estimate that it would take me 6 hours if I could lock myself away somewhere and not be bothered:lol:
