This may be random, but am I the only one noticing more naturals on television ads especially McDonalds? What do y'all think?

yesssssssssss, i noticed this years ago......., i even said this to my sister a few months ago!!!! thank you, its not just me.

I feel like they've always done that....especially with little kids. They always have these curly, curly curls.

I've actually been surprised to see more relaxed heads in commercials- heck more black people, period.

I'm seeing it and it's very encouraging. :yep:

I will just say that it will be great to see more type 4 naturals represented in those commercials. Not to nit-pick, but it bears mention. :yep:

I've noticed.. its everywhere !! Mcdonald's.. birthcontrol.. jcpenny.. makes me feel not as special.. almost wanna slap a relaxer on to be "different" =/

I noticed this too, and always see type 3 curls. Miiss Keciia, I'm surprised you see more 4s!

I always see lighter black women with a looser curl, almost like it's implied they are mixed to a white audience. >_>

Yep, definitely noticed this as well.

Relaxed heads are on adverts if it's hair related and marketed toward black women-- beyond that, not so much.

I noticed. In fact, I was noticing that most AA women in commercials these days are naturals or have textured hair...

My DH were just having this conversation and wondering why the trend. His theory is that the natural hair makes the women appear "ethincally ambiguous" making them appeal to a broader base of women. I argued that theory was oxymoronic in that the women appeared (at least to me) more "ethnic" because of their natural hair. :drunk:

Yeah, I have noticed they have been doing this the last few years, but what I've been really pleased with is naturals showing up in music videos which has been famous for only featuring straight silky hair. (Shout out to Usher and Trey Songs!)

I'm seeing more 4s now then before and dark skinned girls. It is encouraging because I envy those Motions commercials sometimes!

I am so proud of the media representing all the naturals! I've seen allstate insurance and lots others. I am glad to see this happening.

I've noticed this. But here they advertise hair that's mostly in the 3's.
Totally agree with the above posts. I've noticed the trend and look forward to seeing more type 4 acceptace:yep: I think thats the way things are trending though.

I live in Canada (Toronto) and noticed it too. Not only type 3 but 4 as well. I used to not pay attention to this at all but now that I'm natural, I do.

For years indeed, but yes, usually the type 3s. It's funny how they even do twist/braid outs on women with relaxed hair to get the curly type 3 look!

yes I noticed this just this year and was talking about it to a friend....Like man it's hard to see a AA woman with straight hair on commercials anymore, where that was all it used to be...never used to see a lot of us curly goddesses....it probably has been longer but I never paid it any attention until I went natural I don't think. But it is really nice to see the diversity
