i have henna in my freezer just chillin. the last time i hennad i dont think i did it right. could someone please tell me how to do it step by step in dumb *** terms please!! and the simplest way too. people make it WAY to complicated putting unnecessary ingredients in it. if i need to put an oil in i got EVOO other than that i guess ill DC for a longer time. :lachen:

Okay...This is what I do exactly.:yep: Now Mind you, I am doing it for the Stain to put Indigo On top of it. (so take that into consideration).:yep:

1) Mix Henna with Apple Cider Vinegar (let rest for 8-10 Hours) to a Stirred Yogurt Consistency

2) After Color is Released add a splash of Oil. I've used all kinds EVOO, Amla, etc....

3) Apply Henna to Hair

4) Wrap Tightly with Saran Wrap and a Coupla' Plastic Caps. *to prevent any dripping*

5) Allow Henna to sit on Hair at least 3-4 Hours

6) Rinse for an eternity with Clear Running Water

7) Rinse for another eternity with Suave Tropical Coconut, V05 Moisture Milks or White Rain i.e. something cheap. At least 1/2 to 3/4ths of the bottle to make sure all the henna is out

8**) Then I apply my Indigo. Wrap in Saran Wrap and repeat the Rinsing process.

9) I DC (usually under Steamer) with A really Moisturizing Deep Conditioner

10) Then Proceed to dry, style etc.....:yep:

They say let it sit at room temperature. Yes, I put a lid on mine. Prolly isn't necessary, but oftentimes I let it sit overnight after mixing.

Henna Stains usually "Red"/Auburn etc... (at least on me) I want my Hair Black or Dark Brownish/Black so that's where Indigo comes into play. It darkens the Hair after you've stained it with Henna.:yep:

thanks so much for helping me!!!

Thanks IdareT'sHair. I've been doing all wrong all this time. I have been mixing everthing all at once. I've found mixing it with yogurt, a squeeze of lemon juice, oils and conditioner and resting overnight. But get copper highlights not red undertones with very moisturized hair. Just put henna on my hair too, I'm so bummed I didn't mixed it with ACV or lemon juice first. Oh well, next time.

You should mix with water or tea and then add a splash of acid like ACV, lemon juice, red wine, apple juice, etc. Just mixing with ACV is going to be way too acidic.

I usually rinse my hair first if it is really dirty then airdry with a little coconut oil for 20-30 minutes before applying. Otherwise my henna reggie is pretty similar to what was posted.

You're welcome.:yep:

I wouldn't say you did it wrong, if you have the results you like/want.

IMO: If You are going for "Stain" i.e. Color, you should allow the dye in the Henna to properly release before you add your 'other ingredients'.:yep:

The Coppery Highlights sound lovely tho'.:yep:
