Ah, the Jewish Lawyer. One of my biggest fans (my dad is an attorney and his department is literally half Jew...lol).

Girl, this isn't a trend! It's been like this for a while. I'm glad you're catching the wave, though. Ride it, girl, ride it!
 
lol old white men have always loved our hair... i think it might be some left over emotion from slave days or something because when i 1st started wearing my hair natural in a wash and go to this very day, old white men will stop me and tell me how they love my hair or just walk past me smiling and nodding. they love it lmao
 
I wouldnt call this a new trend. I am not natural but I am 6mos post and I wear a lot of twist outs and I get more compliments on my hair from other race men/women. Now when more brothers start complimenting our hair I will call that a new trend.
 
I'm curious to know why......what residual feelings are brought up when they see natural hair....I wonder.

I appreciate your setting me straight. perhaps i should have used different wording for that one particular sentence.

it's more of a new trend for ME, considering no man (not black, not white, not purple or green lol) had ever paid attention to/complimented my hair until recently, when i began consciously transitioning to natural. Now that I am making that transition and I'm wearing my natural hair out more often, my SO (who is Latino) and White men like my boss are paying tribute more often.

now, when i rock the natural curls i get compliments from people as conservative as my boss and personally i feel i'm in the twilight zone. but i like it.

make sense? no? Lol I'm crazy don't mind me

its that whole "exotic" and "forbidden love" factor. its not something they saw in their house hold and on tv so its the excitement of the unknown that gets them usually.

like when i 1st started wearing my hair naturally to work all the white people asked how i got my hair to "do that"... i was shocked at the fact that a lot of white people actually think we have bone straight flat ironed hair lol that's because all they ever knew was black women who were relaxed. i mean they actually asked me if i got a perm (a curly perm). so its just sooo different for them that they're in shock and go into like a sensory over load lmao

I dunno, but ifind that among fellow natural sistas and bros.... everybody loves black hair, afros curls cornrows, is just fascinating... only people that trip are other non natural black people and others brainwashed in ignorant bigotry.... I know asian women... And you know they have some admirable hair (usually thick heavy and shiny).... and they adore my curls as much as I adore their strands....

well no it was nothing positive. these women were raped and abused. but a fetish is a fetish and i do think it is engraved in the white man.

when i made my comment i by no way was trying to make light of what happened in our past. but i honestly think its where it rooted from.
 
I do find that I get more attention from white guys when i wear a braid out while I get more attention from black guys when its in a style with loose curls....*kanye shrug*
