And not nervous at all. I'm a slow grower and have only acquired 2-2.5 inches of hair during my 7 month transition. I was suppose to be on a 2 year transition but..... enough is enough. After reading a thread awhile back about MAKING SURE TO GET ALL SHED HAIR OUT AFTER TAKING BRAIDS OR A WEAVE DOWN I decided to not do that. I am currently left with just half the relax hair I had before putting in my yarn braids in . Completely my fault but w/e. I guess it took that to happen for me to decide to go ahead and get the BC over with. I plan to continue to wear yarn braids until I get out of school in May. Over the summer I'll rock my TWA and then in august when school starts.... well we'll see then.

Right now I am on my spring break and I stupidly left my camera back in my dorm (6 hours away in NC). So camera phone pics will suffice. I'll be back at 11pm with my after BC post.

See you ladies then. And I have to say, this WOULD NOT be possible wihout you guys. I thank God that I found you last July when I did. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!

Feeling like spongebob right now ... IM READY IM READY IM READY IM READY

ETA:

Sorry it took so long. Im soooo in love right now. I love my TWA. I kinda dont even want it to grow out. :lachen:

I tried to upload more pics but for some reason my phone wont send all of them to my computer....

BEFORE:

AFTER: (in these pics my hair is wet with conditioner)

i love it!! but im still seeing straighter (with a slight bend) strands..... its really strange. i swear the barber got all of the relaxed hairs out. now they've popped up all over the place after wetting my hair......

Sooooo..... what do you ladies think??

Good luck! Today at work I was having BC dreams myself. Who knows, I might be next.

Congratulations!!! You'll love it at times and hate it at times but all in all it's you and yours!! I can't wait to check in and see the new you.

I can't wait to see the results.
good luck and yay to you for feeling good about it!

Congrats, can't wait for the pics, it's gonna be the first thing i check when i log in tomo. I'm 7 months post aswell.

Ok I kinda already did it an hour ago lol. I'm EXTREMELY happy I did. My relaxed hair was really starting to fight me and I couldn't let it win haha. But anyway Im still waiting until my mother gets home to shape it up for me at 10 (if she doesnt refuse to.........)

I have one question though... if my mother doesn't decide to help me out

should i.... go to the barber to get my fro shaped or a hair stylist?? any pros or cons??

Go to someone you trust. I got my mother to cut off my hair and still have not gotten it shaped up ( i have been in braids/weaves since my BC).

How big is your fro?
Do you have a stylist you trust?
if not, and if the fro quasi low, i'd go to a barber. I feel like they'd have more shaping experience than a stylist... but that's just my opinion

It looks great! You look very cute with your TWA! There sure are a lot of BC's going on around here. I'm jealous. My hair texture on the top of my head is SO different from the texture on the rest of my head that I could never do it without looking crazy.

i personally went in (doing the BC) not even knowing my texture and now i realize i have every texture there is lol. but i absolutely LOVE it. im soooo glad the mishap in the shower happened now. why go through all of that fuss and headache of transitioning for a couple of years when i can ENJOY ALL stages of my natural hair??? do it girl! do it!! ENJOY your TWA!!

My hair is strange, though. It's like I have NO texture on the top. It's really, really, really loose. When I was relaxing, I could hardly tell where the new growth stopped and the the relaxed hair began. So, I would just not relax the top. The rest of my head is all curly. I'm now 8 months post but have been using BKT. Maybe one day I'll get rid of the relaxed part but I think it would look strange!

I love yours, though. You did a good thing!
