damn I have a sensitive scalp I coud barely watch that...it made me uncomfortable. All of that brushing/tugging and that hot blowdryer near her scalp.
 
My bestie and I were watching this together and why when her hair started smoking did she blow at the screen like stylist do when you hair starts smoking. I was laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. The whole time we were like why doesn't she just BC. Why keep hair that damaged. I mean will she even have hair next week with all the heat they used. Let's not talk about the blow dryer being on hell and the 20 passes with the flat iron. And did she not feel that heat on her scalp when they did her nape area. I would have been cringing from pain.
 
I'd be pissed if I were in that salon being exposed to possibly harmful fumes. What was the point of the bkt? Couldn't she have achieved that with a regular blowout and flat iron? I would probably just shave my head and start over if that were me...

I was tryin' to count how many times the stylist flat ironed that little stub piece by her nape...damn.

Ooh! Her hair looked all stiff and heavy laden with product at the end :nono:

I agree with everybody that said it looked bad at the end! It looks so weighed down and stiff. She looks like she needs to deep condition and clean her hair after all that smoke.
 
Wow talk about Fried Dyed and laid to the side. But I did like the way she washed the ladies hair but all that heat would make me retreat.
 
I think her hair is suppose to smoke:look: All the BKT's videos i watch there is some kind of smoke coming off the hair, especially when flat ironing. Also your suppose to go threw it so many times to seal in the keratin.

I looked at the beginning and fast forwarded to the end and I thought it looked good, especially from how it looked when she first came in the salon. Maybe I should bore myself and watch the middle, naw!
 
As far as the level of heat, thats normal for DS's...Every DS I've ever been to in the greater NYC area uses the same amount of heat regardless of if you get BKT or not. Normally they rollerset you and then proceed with the blow-out...you can opt for them to only blow out your roots if you so desire. Afterwards they usually follow up with the flatiron unless you tell them not to.

so the heat didn't scare me...thing is I don't do BKT so I would've asked for a serious Deep Conditioner prior to her styling my hair....guess you can't do that during the BKT treatment.

I did not like the way her hair came out at ALL though...it was shiny and the color looked nice but I would never wear my hair so weighed down looking :nono:..I agree with those who said it looked gummy. To me the style reminded me of something my grandma would wear...very outdated and boring...Homegirl didn't work it out with the flat iron...I mean can I get some feathers? why did she curl it all down like that...No Bueno Mami!

I like body and movement...ESPECIALLY if you are going to a DS...your hair should be swaaaanging when you leave, regardless of length. So IMO that was a big fat #Fail :blush:
 
Her hair was smoking like that because the stylist used way, way, way, waaaayyy too much product! I was cringing just watching her apply...I don't think I would use on my whole head what she put on one section. SMH.
 
It hurts looking at that. Her hair is extremely damaged and her nape IMO was not cut that way, it got burnt off from a previous service. My hair won't stand for all that heat. Now I know what BKT is, and I won't be getting one.
 
Is the hair supposed to look that stiff after a bkt? when I had hair that short it used to move when I shook my head. That looks like the type of hair that would be standing up if you were unfortunate enough to be confronted by a strong gust of wind...looking like don king
 
I shuddered watching that and then I almost fainted when I realized how much she must have paid her to have that done.
 
Man the only thing I could think about(including the damage the operator was doing) is the fumes that they were both ingesting. I could have sworn that I saw the client holding her hand over her mouth and nose while the operator was blow-drying her hair. I hope to god it wasn't a formula containing formeldahyde (sp).
