first, the damage I caused. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=438430&highlight=

So I had a very positive experience at the salon Saturday. They sell biotin y'all. I saw that and knew that I was in good hands. I got a DRC treatment because my hair had been shedding terribly. it stopped the shedding cold!!! one hair was in the comb after she did my final rinse and since Saturday, i've only lost one hair and that's because my son was wrestling with me and snatched it by accident.

Because I'm all for health over length, I didn't have any problem with her doing more than a trim. I went in because of the shedding and the splitting that I was experiencing.

I am right at the base of my neck. So with healthy hair care, I can see me being APL FULLY by next year. I plan to continue to go to this stylist.

I love the layers believe it or not. I got swangalang too. You can see where my crown was much shorter. She trimmed it also so that it could grow healthy and not continue to split.

Upon finishing my doo, she told me NO HEAT. Her clients normally go 8-10 weeks between relaxers, some longer. When I told her that 10 was around the time I start to panic, she was like, for now, but soon you'll be going much longer. :spinning: I felt like I was talking to a Nikos Cousin.

Wow! Congratulations! You have really found a GOOD stylist, seems like! Your cut is cute, too!

Nice style, good healthy looking hair. Where do you live and who is this stylist?

I live near Charlotte, NC.

And the crazy thing is that this style isn't my creation. I sat down and told her I had no idea of where i wanted my hair to be. Asked that she keep as much length as possible, but without sacraficing the health by holding on to straggly ends.

I did show her a pic of my eventual end dream hair which was a lady probably BSL with full lucious curls. She was like, you'll be there in no time. Oh joy. lol

O so pretty!!! :infatuated:
I'm thinking about cutting layers and this is exactly how I would want them to
look...feathered and gorgeous! ITA with the overall health of your hair vs.
length.

Love the layers and I love the color of your hair. Very pretty!!! Sounds like you have a great stylist.

Awww your hair is so cute! I used to have my hair cut like that a few years and I really liked it at that length. It looks very bouncy. I wish i could find a "stand-by" stylist like her!

I would have to agree with the other ladies…your cut looks beautiful! You are very blessed to have found a stylist who actually listens and understands! Looking forward to seeing your progress!

does your stylist work with natural hair too?
:scratchch

Great haircut! And, your stylist cut your layers perfectly. A lot of stylist don't know how to cut layers...they cut them so they don't blend well.

your hair came out really nice, and I like that she put subtle layers, looks great, love the color too. I may have to order that drc but it's pricey :( guess its worth it.
