I didn't do an amazing job and I'm more texlaxed than relaxed but I didn't wanna overprocess. I couldn't make it home for spring break and needed to relax now so I could relax again for graduation. I used revlon relaxer. And thanks to my handy dandy porosity control my hair feels very smooth and soft.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I really appreciate it. It was one of the most nerve racking things I've done with my hair. so intense! lol

I know what you mean. My first time doing my own relaxer, my hands were sweating like crazy under my gloves and when I realized the time was up I ran to rinse it out immediately. I was so afraid that when I rinsed my hair would just slide off my scalp from overprocessing, lol. I ended up underprocessing my first time, too. But I've since been a bit more calm about self-relaxing and I'm starting understand how my hair looks when it's straight enough.

Yea I was looking at the clock. And was getting so scared when it came close to the time for it to come out. Ran straight to the shower.

Very pretty. It doesn't look underprocessed to me. Did you flat iron afterward?

Random: I like your shower curtain.

This is right in time for me girl - I'm doing my first self-relaxer either tonight or tomorrow and I am scared out of my mind. Any tips?

I don't know if this makes sense but take your time but also be quick. Lol. I was a nervous wreck, but if I would have just relaxed I think it would have come out better. Just try to be pretty precise. Oh and I used roux pc on the length of my hair so that it wouldn't overprocess. I think it helped. If you have a mirror to look behind in that would help. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury in my apt but I do at my moms house. Go to the self relax support thread. It helped alot!

BTW beautiful hair!

You are a brave soul! I chicken out every time and go to the salon.

You did a really good job! Did you do it in sections/what was your technique?

We will both be graduating this May? Yay us LOL

Thanks girl. I was wondering how you used the Porosity Control because I have a bottle as well.

Excellent job! I did my first self-relaxer last week after a 13 week stretch. It came out alright, but I have to do a corrective. I agree, you have to relax your nerves and move quickly. I noticed that the more time you spend in preparation (basing scalp, ends, and sectioning in advance) the easier it is!
