Because of other recent pictures of her with shoulder length hair that was no where NEAR that thick. :lachen:

If it is hers, she either had a short weave in, or she's got the bombdiggity growth potion.
 
I don't think its all hers. Not hating, because I know she could have hair that long and big, but in light of the recent pics, I just don't think so :look:

Either way, it is FABULOUS!!! I am needing that hair in my life! Does anyone know of any weave or half wig that looks like this????
 
Not all her hair, especially after recent pics of her in Brazil.

It looks nice though, like it did back in the day when she was a new artist.

I mentioned this top thread a bit..it a dead ringer for Sante Fe Girl by Freetress once you fluff it out and finger comb it.

Can u make it that wide just by fluffing? Or can u tease it with a comb? I really like the fuzziness of alicia's hair....
 
I love the curls and the width. I like the color, but I may be the only one that thinks dark hair looks better on her.

:yep: I like dark hair on her better too. I've given up on guessing what her "real" hair looks like. I always thought this was her real hair until people on naturallycurly said this stuff was fake and that childhood pictures showed her natural texture to be type 4:

It looks attached. Much like a half wig. You can tell the way the sides are slicked and how the top is styled. Its no biggie. I love half wigs. I used to wear them all the time.
 
This is a pretty braid-out. It looks like she dyed her hair a little lighter. The jet black hair made her look a little washed out.

Alicia Keys is a 4???? Where are the pics? She looks like a 3c too me, maybe she has some 4a or a mix of both. 3c can get really kinky and look 4a if brushed out too. Who cares what type she is tho. Her hair is gorgeous either way. But yeah, the pics above are roller/straw sets, possibly phony ponies.
 
I couldn't say whether it's hers or not... its pretty though.
ETA: I forgot that I did see the childhood pic of here where she did appear to be a different hair type.. guess it's not hers

My best friend is bi-racial and her hair texture did loosen up as she got older - her mom used to relax her hair when she was little but now she just she blowdries for a straight look

I'm not trying to claim that she was a 4B and changes to 2B BUT I think as she got older she learned how to take better care of her hair (and work with her texture instead of fighting it) and her fizzness was reduced - thus showing her natural waves

:yep: Like that woman with the Curly website - Terri? The one who spawned the 'leaving conditioner in your hair after brushing with Denman' regimen?

She had pictures of what her hair looked like as a teenager with poor care, vs an adult with proper care - and yeah, you might have thought she went from a 4a to a 3a, easy. :yep:
 
I understand what y'all mean, but I don't think your texture changes per se, I just think they learn how to better manage it and learn what products work for it.

Anyway, I just loved that style on AKeys and wanted to post it! Love big hair!
