Okay this is pretty embarrassing, and obviously I have not been on a date in a while. I went out with a very cute boy this past weekend, and he happens to be white (wondering if that had anything to do with this "encounter").

Well, we were kissing and all that (yeah, getting into it ) and this fool reaches deep INTO my hair and pulls it! I'm like...ummmm in my head, but I let it go. LOL and then he does it AGAIN! I immediately stop everything, and say defensively....

"Uhhh..It's not a weave!"

.....

He looked REALLY confused, like I had grown two heads, and replied "Oh, I was just pulling it.":blush::blush: I could only reply "Oh? Heh....hehe....:perplexed"

WOWWWW! :lachen: this was a cultural mix up, since most of the black men I've dated wouldn't pull my hair....but it's also probably wayyyy too much time thinking about my hair, on my part! Well it killed the mood a bit and he definitely did not do it again!!!

I had to tell myself "dang girl, not everything is about your hair length, growth, health, etc!!!"

So a Question for all you ladies: Do you all let gentlemen ummm (how do I say this) be less then gentle with your hair in a moment of passion??? Or do they know it's a No No????

Any crazy stories so I can feel better? LoL

why pull? I don't get it play with :yep: pull :nono: especially if I have got my hair braided and it's still a lil tight hell to the no. What happend to scal massages? LOL

Funny story. If we are in a heated moment- why not, you can pull. Just don't be too rough and snatch up hair out of my roots!

Not to worry. My first husband was white. Your friend meant no harm. That's how they play. Different culture that's all.

LMAO great story!!!

My SO pulls and I like it hehe

He happens to be white, but my 2 past long term SOs were black and they were pullers too....and i didn't miiiiind.....::running away shamefully::

It's not a pull like a yank, like he's tryin to scalp you.... it's a gentle tug...outta passion... playing and massaging are included in the mix too... :yep:

Thanks for the laugh this morning . Dh doesn't pull but I would let him if I wasn't wearing a wig or a sew-in :yep:.

Hmm, I don't have my hair out or long enough to pull. but having read your story and knowing my DH he'd probably pull it when I start leaving it out.

:lachen:

Thank You for my morning laugh!

And to answer your question...For about 3 months, my Hubby COULD NOT pull my hair cuz I didn't have any:grin:

One day...when we were...uh..busy:perplexed...He reached up there and yanked my twa!

Maaaaan! I got all distracted and asked him to pull on it again:lachen:

Hubby was all:rolleyes:...He wanted to get back to the matter at hand. LMAO

OMG that is so funny!!! I immediately thought to myself, I hope she didn't yell at him and tell him its not a weave hahahaha

If DH wants to pull or snatch, he can go right ahead LOL That's about the only moment he can get away with it

There better be some tugging and pulling or we ain't doin' it right!!
Besides, I like it like that!

that was cute - from watching Chris Rock's movie "Good Hair" I learned that most African American men know that they are not supposed to touch the hair. That has been my experience as well. I have a friend that would not touch my hair while straight but while natural he does - hmm interesting. I'm sure he's just curious but I like it! Admit it - it's okay for guys to play in our hair as long as when we go back out in public we don't look a hot mess!

--most blk men i dated would pull--massage---stroke

and clear men luv to pull hair so--def their norm

lol....awkward!
That's one of my worst fears.
If anybody pulls my hair, they're pulling back a nub! I don't care how "passionate" it gets.

Haha. Sounds like he's a lil freaky, Nothing wrong with that.

I don't say either way because I'm so used to not having my hair touched that now that it can be touched, I don't mind. Although I would muchg rather them run their hand up through the back and just lightly tug then being all rough. If I think it's causing breakage then I'ma say something.
