Quick question, Wash my hair on Fri, relax on Sun....is this ok?

I did that once. It was not a positive experience. My scalp was sorta jacked up. If you have to do it, then slather your scalp with base and cross your fingers.

I've heard you should try to wait at least 4 days after a wash before relaxing. After even a conditioner wash you've removed oils from your scalp and you need as much protection as possible on scalp during relaxer (natural scalp oils as well as a protective base you apply).

Girl, you haven't relaxed yet! It will be okay to do this. I agree with Sugar(that's my cousin's name Lol!). Just lightly massage your scalp while washing and base your scalp and you should be fine. I have done this before as well.

Im doing the same routine this weekend. I've been relaxing this way for the last 2 years. I dont have a sensitive scalp though, so I dont base. I do not manipulate my scalp at all over the weekend!

i've been natural for a minute but thinking back on my experience with a relaxer i'd recommend not to. i figure it's better to be safe than sorry IMHO. besides, your hair will be washed on relaxer day and you can give it another wash shortly thereafter. or you can always push back the touch up day.

I would say to wait at least 72 hours. Just be careful what you apply to your hair the days before the relaxer. I think coconut oil caused me to be really underprocessed once.

The only way I relax is to wash one morning and relax that night or the next morning. This is the only way I don't get sores.

I think it should be okay as long as you don't manipulate or scratch your scalp. I would also mist your scalp /hair with a silk amino acid/silicone mix directly after the wash and everyday thereafter, including relaxer day, making sure that the SAA mix is absorbed/dry the day of the relaxer. Then I would base your scalp and relax.

So I relaxed today and oh did it burn:burning: I felt like I was going to pass out at one point:blush::look:. On top of that, my shampoo had citrus fruit in it:rolleyes: I will never do it again:yep: but that for your input ladies:kiss:

I wash every other day, so I relax on the days I don't wash, and I've never had any problems before with burning. I hope you're feeling better soon...

this is the hardest part, enduring crunchy ng until touch up because i don't want to moisturize because I don't want to underprocess :perplexed

I totally agree on the manipulation on the scalp causing burning thing, but its weird cause Your supposed to use Porosity Control prior to a Service, to close Your cuticles, to have it "TAKE" better, it states it on the bottle, but I still feel iffy about it, I've contemplated this but I'm a little nervous.
