Well I couldn't find anything on Fox but I did see the interview on CBS 2 News online. Here is the link for those who would like to see it for themselves: http://cbs2chicago.com/local/Michelle.Obama.hairdresser.2.910837.html

I guess those weekly visits really do help because her hair looks much better than when Obama first started campaigning. Wonder what she is going to do since Flowers supposedly turned down the position of moving into the white house and being her personal hair stylist?

For the sake of debating, how long has she been relaxed? LOL Im just kidding .

Her stylist and the media say she's relaxed. My gut says she's natural with great products, a smooth press, and a few tracks to help her achieve the swing. It doesn't matter if shes relaxed or not. She has achieved a style and look that fits her beauty and is uniquely hers.

How do tracks help people get swing?? Anyone can get swing/swang from a blowout done properly. I'm just saying....'cause I've seen plenty of folks with tracks but no bounce or body.

I think it comes from the improved health of her hair since she has been in the spotlight, but who knows! I could be wrong. She/ Her stylist wouldn't be the first to falsely deny having extensions.

PEOPLE Magazine interview said that her hair has grown over the time of running. Many of you have exsperienced shampoo and conditioning more than once a week by a professional using Fredrik Ferkie products, her hair has grown and is healthy. she can still pull it back in a ponytail or wear it up for formal look, I think it looks just the thing.

Try any indian remi virgin straight or proceded remi natural body and the tracks will give you swing. Not only will it give you swing and bounce but that blow in the wind hair that lays back down perfectly.

They have been campaigning for two years; I certainly HOPE her hair has grown!

Michelle aint got no tracks!:lachen:

The woman has healthy relaxed hair that she gets professionally done every week. Of course she has swing. Come on, yall, it's not rocket science.

Thank you SB! Believe it or not teenage black america...black women can have healthy, shiny, swinging hair that was not purchased at Harry Wong's Weave Emporium!

Tracks with natural hair worn straight = HAM :lachen::lachen::lachen:

Her hair seems a bit shorter every time I see her, so this. Leaves me to wonder if she's transitioning without the BC.

Summary of the two articles: Rahni Flowers did her hair for about 26 years and refers to her hair as "chemically relaxed". Johnny Wright did her hair for an Essence or Ebony layout; she called upon him again while she was on the campaign trail, most notably for her speech at the convention. He does NOT state whether she is natural or relaxed, just how to "recreate the style". (So I guess we go with Nonie's info.)

I tend not to pay as much attention to "recreate the style" interviews, because we've all seen those given by Bey's stylist. The instructions never start with "apply your lacefront wig with glue...."

GURRLL YOU AINT NEVA LIED!!!!!!:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:
THAT'S WHY I GET SO MAD SOMETIMES WHEN I READ A HAIR MAGAZINE, TELL ME WHAT YOU DID, NOT WHAT YOU THINK I COULD DO? Dang!!!:wallbash:

Lawd ha mercy - this thread is a year old... WHO CARES!!!!??? She is the first lady. Which means she had access to great hair stylists......sheesh....:nono: Let it go.....

I remember reading an article from her stylist stating she was natural and he uses the root straightener on her then a few weeks later the same tool was advertised on Tyra. i went right out and purchased it....It didn't work for me. Maybe she relaxed since then??? IDK

her hair does not look relaxed it does not have that smooth texture you get from a relaxer i think its presses or flat ironed you can tell how it reverts sometimes in her pics

I saw her last night (State of the Union) and she looks a little wiggy to me. She looked good but I think she had a little help in the hair department.

You think so? At first glance, I have to admit I wondered the same thing. But then I was so overwhelmed by the amazing shine and didn't give it another thought. Hmmmm, will have to take another look. :ohwell:

i hear people say that when you press with either a flat iron, hot comb, whatever so much that it's "trained", WTF does that mean in terms for black hair? Doesn't that mess up a person's hair texture after a while with all that heat? I need some clafitcation.

Yes I think you can train your hair. It appears she doesn't want to wear her natural texture, but she also doesn't want to have chemicals in her hair.

I trained my hair while relaxed by wrapping. It took a while but it eventually would just lay the way I wanted it to lay without much coaxing.

:giggle: I love how we can discuss this on here.
I love that a thread like this exists. we are just too much....

I distinctly remember reading that Johnny Wright article about her being relaxed back in 2008 when I was debating on whether or not to transition or relax again.
