I can't preach this enough, sulfur-based products are excellent for your scalp. it helps control dandruff as well.

Keracare dry itchy scalp glossifier is good, it contains sulfur but its not thicky and gooey like Sulfur 8. It helps control my itchies, though I only use it when I'm in braids or weaves as I wash my hair less frequently and need somthing to help the itching.

I don't put anything on my scalp. I think it needs to be clean and free. It'll produce it's own oils if you keep it clean

I agree.

I have ORS Carrot Oil Cream that I mixed some EVOO and Coconut Oil into. I put this on my scalp when my new growth starts getting unruly and it really feels good and helps soften new growth. I also use Profectiv's Root Health on my scalp for the same purpose. The first 4 weeks after a relaxer though I don't put anything on my scalp except maybe jojoba oil.

Is your scalp dry?

I'll put any creme or grease on my scalp, I just need something (it's an addiction, I know). I only do this once a week though, three times at the most (rarity).

I just tried the B&B Honey and Mayonnaise and may continue with this route, and use the B&B Super Gro as an alternate, or when I'm bored.

Wonder gro has a very light sulfur grease it smells good too. It has the texture of coconut oil.

They also (Wondergro) have a nice light oil with a little a spout that might be nice ofr oiling the scalp. I also don't oil, but I know some people prefer to.

I'm sorry you said OTHER than oil....

Sorry.

I know a girl with beautiful hair who puts A&D ointment on her scalp. I've also heard of people applying MSM to scalp (that's that sulfur Bobie mentioned) to increase growth. I've never done that tho.

I was just wondering what was safe to use that wouldn't clog your pores. I read on some threads that some ladies were putting stuff on their scalps (like the profectiv products) and I wanted to know what products wouldn't clog your pores. I do was more than once a week and I don't put anything on my scalp except oil occasionally. I have been experience flakes more than usual but I am thinking that this is probably dry scalp or my eczema flaring up. I did use a different relaxer recently and I have a feeling that may have been the cause (it was different brand but still no lye) if that is possible. But thanks for the input ladies.
