For curly styles like braid/twistouts I would say scurl and hot6oil to seal it. Sometimes I use the pantene light spray detangle then the oil. When I go straight I use ors carrot oil creme or just an oil like evoo or hot6.
I am relaxed, trying to transition to texturized. I have 2 different textures on my head, so to prevent breakage, I have started using UBH creme (Cathy Howse) on my wet hair after shampooing, remembering to apply not just to hair ends, but to hair close to the scalp as well. When I started moisturizing from root to tip, I began to notice significantly less demarcation breakage. HTH
Im transitioning and I like to use Elasta Qp Mango Butter on wet and dry hair, and coconut oil on dry hair. I will probably be getting S-Curl spray soon too.
I use a mixture of coconut/olive/avacado oil with water. I had made a huge difference in my moisture level and breakage. Using just coconut oil is fine too. I'm texturized and the ends are relaxed.
I'm transitioning. I have 2 that I apply at different times but together they work fabulously for me. They're both by profectiv. I use RootHealth on damp (not wet, not dry) hair after washing. This is particularly good for my newgrowth and moisturizing that demarcation line
I usually blowdry my hair. After I'm done, I apply Long n Healthy and put my hair in a bun. It's particularly good for the relaxed part of my hair. I use it twice a day until the next wash. I barely lose like 2 or 3 hairs when I take the bun down to remoisturize. My hair feels really strong and has a sort of "weight" to it. It's great
I use and like Redken anti-snap so far but since I'm not too sure how moisturizing it is I use it along with Elasta QP recovery and my hair is soft. I also use WGO and Scurl.
Btw,Ms_Jennifer how did I miss your hair pics. Great looking hair
its olive oil and water mixed in a bottle that works for me...especially when I put it on at night and then wear my sating sleep cap; I get a mini hot oil deep treatment nightly!!

Thanks Faith! That made my day! I have always admired your hair!
Relaxed...at night I mist my hair w/ distilled water and then use Giovanni Direct leave in. Then, a small amount of Monoi or Hot Six Oil the seal the ends. In the am, my hair feels soft, moist, strong, and non-oily.
Is there actually a product on the market which *prevents* breakage?
Perhaps there are products which reduce breakage. However, if there are actually products which prevent breakage, then the inventor of such a product has created a gold mine, in my opinion.

My new favorite moisturizer is conditioner. I use either Humectress, Nature's Gate Aloe or one other w/Hawaiian something in it (by NG, it smells <img src="http://st1m.longhaircareforum.com/images/smilies/lick.gif" alt="" />. Anyhoo, I add castor and/or avocado oil to it.

well, i know there isnt a product that actually "prevents" breakage but I know there are products out there that prevents "as much breakage as possible" to where you have little to no breakage. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
