Ok, BT is very light and it doesn't take a whole lot to distribute over your scalp. At first I was applying to much and it was running on my face/neck.

So, what I've learned to do is apply it with my fingers to my sides, and near my ears but on the rest of my head, I just squirt enough and let in run down to the nape. you have to judge how much but after a couple of times you will know how much to squeeze. It will even be better if you squeeze just enough where it reaches near your nape and just massage that the rest in with your fingers from where it almost reached the nape.

Last night was my first time using it again since I brought it. I put on too much so today I am going to apply on my ends with my fingers and then do 3 sections in my hair and massage the rest in. A little ran down my face last night and I didn't like that so tonight its going to be a little different in the application process.

I'm so glad you posted this. I was going to start a thread to find out the best way to apply. Last night was the first time I used it and I took 15-20 minutes parting my hair to make sure I got it everywhere. I was hoping to shorten the process and to eliminate parting my hair to minimize manipulation.

Great I'll just stick the nozzle in my head and start squirting away (but not too much) ;)

This is the perfect timing for this thread. My BT will be coming soon and I can't wait to use it.:D

I'm sorry, I must add that you may want to use a little safety pin to poke the whole in it. if it just comes out in a drop then you want the whole to be bigger.

But yeah, if you start squirting in the front I guarantee you that you won't need to squirt in the middle or at the near the back of your head. It will run down your scalp and reach your nape.

Thats EXACTLY what I do. It takes 3 min tops!

Yeah it's so good to see you in here. :)

I tried this method tonight and it was much quicker. After I finished squirting I gently massaged my head to make sure it got everywhere.

this is easier for me now because I have 2 inches of hair but when I first brought mine I cut it wrong and its snaggly...so is there anywhere that I can buy a new top?

Did that tonight after my wash and found that it worked out a lot better. I applied with fingers to my edges and then made 3 parts and massaged it in. The smell is not nearly as strong as it was last night and my hair feels great!

I just squirt some on my counter and dab my finger into it then rub it on my scalp. I find this is the best way for me to apply BT.

I would go to Sally's or a Beauty Supply store and get a new applicator bottle and use that top. They should be like $1 or something. But if you don't want to do that, I'd apply it by finger like all the other ladies.

I'm glad this thread was started, because I get my BT very soon. Patiently waiting:) .

For the last couple of times I've applied BT I shake it up and squirt it into a tiny paper bowl, then I part, dabble my finger & apply. This has been great! No running and I feel I'll be able to get the full benefits, I always have a fingertip full of sulphur going straight onto my scalp. I just started apply BT again last weekend, so I've applied it 3 times in the last 7 days. I'm 2 weeks post relaxer, fully processed, and I'm already feeling NG coming in, which is very new to me, I usually don't feel it for 3 to 4 weeks. This stuff is the truth.

I cut my top too big...I went to sally's a bought one of those plastic things with an applicator tip. it was like 1.59 or something.

But yea Im heavy handed but I just started putting it on my fingers and rubbing it in my scalp. I hope I get the same results because I had been getting lots of NG.

I don't even smell it in my hair actually. I can only smell the fragrance (which smells good to me actually) from the bottle. It's fine with me if I don't smell anything though...it's better than smelling something bad like MTG.

This is how I apply mines. I bought a little plastic container with a lid from WalMart and squirt some in it and then apply it like you stated above. I have been doing this since day 1 never got any adverse reaction; also, you use a lot less this way. I just ordered my second bottle and have been using the one I have since May.

I tried it this way on the first day. But since I'm texlaxed and airdried currently it's kind of hair to part through the hair without manipulating alot. So sticking the nozzle right down to my scalp works best for me.

Wow:eek:  you're seeing it already. I've had it for 2 days now and I've applied it both days. Hopefully I can remember to apply it every night for a month to see what kind of results I get. It will be somewhat harder to tell though since I'm texlaxed. But I will be able to tell better when I wash my hair and comb in the shower.

CDW This is my second bottle, I was through with my first bottle in about 4 weeks, actually when there was like an inch of the bottle left, I gave it to my sis to try but still that would have lasted me a week, running it through my scalp the way I use to because I couldn't master applying it straight from the bottle without getting the drips. I'm really going to make the most of this second bottle doing it this way.

RabiaElaine Yup :yep: already. I wish I took pics and things before but I used my 1st bottle in braids and had the braids in for 7 weeks and I went to the salon for my touch-up and she was really in awe of the amount it grew from my last visit. I went a long while, probably a little over a month without using it when my hair was out, then I just picked it up and started using it again for just about a week, maybe 2, all of a sudden I was APL, it just snuck up on me, that was beginning of June, right now, it's a little past APL. Between BT, my Vits, working out, & protein intake I'm convinced I should be BSL by 12/07.

Yeah, I read all the threads about it before I purchased mine and I remember Natural Lady saying that literaly a little goes a long way.

You can apply to your fingertips and it will still do the job, just massage it in...I feel like a pro at this now, I love BT!!!

I just gave a brand new bottle to my niece...she is going to let me know how fast her hair is growing at the end of the month. I'll keep ya'll posted!

Is BT safe to use while pregnant? Does anyone know? Anything I can do to speed up my transitioning process would be a big help, but not at the risk of my bebes health

My opinion would be to wait to use it until after your baby is born, but...I remember Naturallady saying that she used it when she was pregnant with her youngest. I'm sure she will come in and give her testimony.

Yeah I did. I asked my OB about it and she told me it was ok. If it makes you feel better I would ask your doctor though.

I also part my scalp and apply BT directly to my scalp with my finger or with the applicator bottle itself. I find that works good for me. I too am about 2.5 to 3 weeks post relaxer and am already seeing new growth! That is NOT normal for me. I remember using good old Sulfer 8 when I was in middle and high school and how long my hair was then. I'm hoping my hair loves sulpher and will continue to grow with the BT!
