I'm about to cut my hair off. I told myself that if I didn't make significant progress by 12/05 I would wear my hair short and texturized and just wash, scrunch, and go. I never did the big chop, so my hair may be damaged and just NEED to be chopped off. I've heard people on various hair boards talk about their hair thriving after a big cut, and maybe that's what I need to do. I will continue to take care of my hair and do my best to make it work, but if it stays short, so be it. I look cute with short hair too ;)

I know I've posted many threads this year in this forum, so thanks for the advice!

Hello fellow Cancer:)
Well when it's time, it's time. I started here in October and I already want to see MAJOR changes. But it takes time and a good regimen. I hope that you achieve your goals. What are they by the way? Just wondering what changes you were looking to see and what results you have gotten thus far.

I know that my hair grows slowly, but it isn't thriving like I want for the amount of work that I put into it. I would be happy with shoulder length hair, but like I said, I just think I need to start over. If it's short and I can just wash and go, I won't have to put as much thought into it. You know what they say about a watched pot. . .

girl i know what you mean. it seems that i take i step forward and 3 steps backwards. my hair is still breaking and it is driving me insane. i don;t want to cut, but it seems as though that is my only hope. most of it is my fault. i won't give a product enought time before giving up. i'll stick in there for a couple more months and then i'll probably jump on your bandwagon.

I said the same thing earlier this year, but thankfully I (barely) met my goal. My hair is growing and healthy, although it is not AS long or AS healthy as I'd like.

I'll still be working on it though.

My newest thing is that I'm not going to texturize until I get 2 inches (unstraightened 2 inches... which on my hair is around 4 inches) of new growth. By that time, I dunno... I may decide just to go natural. It looks as if my hair isn't thriving as I thought it'd be with a texturizer. It's much better than when I had a full relaxer. I scaled down to a texturizer, got better results. Maybe if I go natural I'd have the best results.

Anyways... that was all about me. Sorry!

Good luck classymami! I understand where you're coming from. :)

I know what you mean. I just braided (kinky twisted) my hair this weekend (NEVER AGAIN!) because of the cold and me watching my hair. Are you taking any vitamins for growth. You know Castor oil, vitamins and certain foods, surge and MTG and braids all make your hair grow. I know you may start over, but even when you start over, try incorporating one of the above into your routine, it may help you with your results.

Classi, (WARNING: the following advise is from a chick who is seriously against hair chopping) ;) u have pretty hair and you've been on this board for some time so i know that you take good care of it. so how can you believe that your hair is damaged if you haven't been doing 'damaging' things to it??? Damaged hair is not just born...it is created. I do not believe cutting it off will make it grow any faster..it just appears that way because the change is more noticeable. do not cut your hair off. check out cathy howse's website for tips about how to transition without chopping. the chop is not necessary. Just continue to be kind to your hair...if a product isn't working...find another product. Use the blowdryer to blend the 2 textures together, etc etc. There are alot of superstars that has natural hair but blow their hair out bonestraight, often when they are in the public eye. If they can do it often and still have gorgeous hair, then that tells me that blowdrying isn't as damaging on virgin hair as long as u use a protectant and know what u are doing. U know what i'm sayin? I'm not transitioning but if i ever did decide to...u betta believe that i will hold on to my length and gradually cut to retain my length.... good luck!
