WHAT'S UP???????????

I've been out of touch for a long time and I must say the new look of the forum is really nice! We got gear???? Anyway, I must say I'm not really happy with me hair progress. To refresh y'alls memory I put major streaks in my hair summer 2003. The color was really pretty--very light brown/blond in my naturally brown/reddish color hair. Needless to say I started experiencing horrible breakage. I thought I was going to have to chop it all off, but my stylist cut my hair in layers to save most of the length. I was ALMOST at my goal of brastrap and I had to lose the majority of my length. **sniff sniff**
Now I have to start all over again. However I was able to monitor my progress has my hair grew out---since the roots were darker. My hair grew about 7 inches in one year. IF I was only able to keep it my hair would be mid-back by now!!

THEN, I come back to the board and everyone that I chatted with before has long hair and I don't. ** pouting**
Any suggestions? What is the lastest and greatest in hair care?

Hi queenofmean68!! I remember you! Welcome back!

What's your regimen so far?

Hey girl! My regimen? Um....same ole....same ole......

I wash once a week or more if needed. I alternate conditioners....one week moisturizing---protein the next. And I always sit at least 15 mins under the dryer. I will use a stronger protein treatment if I see any breakage or excessive shedding. Not too much heat...my hair is either wrapped or back in a ponytail and every now and then I will bump my ends. I take a few vitamins for extra boost.....

The products I usually use are KeraCare, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, Hawiian Silky, Cream of Nature (xtra body)

I don't have a SCIENTIFC routine like some folks. I try to keep it simple.

welcome back. Don't feel bad! I had to get a haircut last summer too.

Of course I remember you... DUHHH!!!

Honey, where have you been? :naughty: You've been away too long! I am sorry that you had that set back but I already know that you will bounce back again.

I want to ask you also, how is your skin? I know both of us were going through the oil issue but since I've been on Accutane, it's the best thing that has happened to me!

Hm... maybe I should convert you to the Mane N Tail Users Club :assimilate: I love that stuff! Sale @ Sally's buy one, get one free

Welcome back. Your hair will grow back in no time!

Anky! What up girl? Saw your pics! Wow! I'm still dealing with the skin---anyone for fried chicken? Anyway, you are taking Accutane? That is some powerful stuff. We will have to catch up.

Hey MissJ, I remember you as well. What's new with you girl? I'm hoping it will. I have a family reunion in August and I would love to have my hair in tip top shape flowing down my back, but then again it IS in Birmingham and it will be in August--can we sat HOT! I may have to find a cute updo for the weekend---any suggestions?

I remember you! If I remember correctly, you had fine hair and really disliked the idea of stretching relaxers.

Nice to see you made it back! :weird:

If you don't mind me asking, did your stylist use bleach on your streaks or perm. color?

Aaaahhhhh...........you remember me well pink flower! Just between you and me I tried to stretch and I went...um...was it about 8 weeks post relaxer??? And let me tell you I had soooo much shedding and breakage, NOT to mention how hard it was to handle the different textures of hair. Just not my thing. I don't know how folks do it.

Well, I really wanted my hair lighter than usual and the color she used only processed my hair so far so she added a little bleach, which of course became the death of my hair. I really don't know what happened because for months my hair was fine then all of a sudden it became dry, brittle and starting breaking. If I even picked up a comb it would just start breaking. I don't know what went wrong. I NEVER used a blow dryer and I always used the best moisturizing conditioner and hot oil treatment and when necessary a protien treatment.
