I love wraps. The only problem is my wraps tend to be very flat the next morning and I've noticed that my hairline tends to look weak near touch up time. Any suggestions?
Wrapping your hair with a vent brush or wide-tooth comb are the best tools to use when you wrap your hair.
My method is like BRH. I use my hands to smooth/lay the wrap down after I use the wide-tooth or vent brush.
I like the vent brush because the tips of the bristles are coated and the spaces between the bristles are not too close together.
*Massaging the temple area (HAIRLINE) before/after wrapping your hair may help*
*I apply Elasta QP Mango Butter (a few drops of jojoba added) to my hair, especially to the ends and proceed to wrap my hair with the wide-tooth comb or vent brush*
*I apply castor and jojoba oils to my hairline prior to putting my satin bonnet on*
*Make sure your scarf/bonnet is not too tight*
*Use a satin pillow case if the scarf/bonnet is causing too much tension to the hairline*
I also don't wrap as much as I used to, but when I do I put something moisturizing on the hairline first(like Elasta QP mango butter). Then I wrap it loosley and pin it up(Allandra's home page is how I now do it). I then tie a silk scarf around the hairline. Then the hair bonnet.
don't forget to alternate directions each night when you do your wrap. i noticed that when i wrap my hair, without doing the rollerset first, it gets flatter/oilier quicker...maybe the same thing is happening to you, 7.
