Would you use PROTECTIV with your braids to stop split ends?

I am thinking about doing this, please let me know if you think this is a good idea.

My hair grows so fast with braids..but i get split ends...protectiv is supposed to stop split ends so i thought it might be a good idea??

i used profectiv healthy ends on my ends while i was wearing my hair in buns and i still noticed splits. i think that if whatever you are doing to your hair causes split ends, then the profectiv will not be able to do a lot to prevent your hair from splitting
