Being honest here. NO, because that means it has been around too long.

I also don't buy the first product on the shelf. I go for the third. I also won't buy a product if it is the only one there. LOL
I am Anal!

:lachen:....I thought I was the only one who'd think like that!!

I'm afraid of jars that have dust on em. Depends on how much dust tho:lol:

The only product I dont care if it had dust on it was when I was on a hunt for the old Creme of Nature shampoo.:lachen::lachen: All bottles I brought a long time ago had aot of dust on them

I do the SAME as JJamiah. :lachen:

Those products make me feel weird. Those products on the low-ish shelves... only 3 of them left and the label looks a little... hmm, "dry" and they all have that Obvious Mysterious Dust on them. Nope. No sir. :look:

No. I went to the Indian grocery store the other day and all the black products were stashed in a corner, covered in dust. Ick.

But if it was the very last bottle of the original Africa's Best Herbal Oil, I would buy it so fast!

If it was something I really wanted? Sure would. And wouldn't think twice about it.

yup done this few months back with hair gel said a lil prayer before use and kept it moving:lol:

I wouldn't buy a old box of relaxer/hair dye etc:nono:

ive done this before... it just means no one else is buying up my staples at MY SPOT!

i def picked up a dusty *** bottle of duo tex last time i went to my spot. the bottle was 4 dollars. i like for my hidden gems to stay dusty and hidden LOL

No, and I complained to the managers of the store and even got the owners' number to complain about the filth of dust, spilled product and nail polish. I was shocked they had let this store deteriorate this way. Their excuse? It costs money to clean. Um...they had several hired workers. :ohwell: I made sure to be professional but loud enough for other patrons to hear me. I asked then if this was what they expected Black people to accept. You know, not one Black person backed me up and they shyly went on to purchase outdated crap and whatnot at the checkout. I purposefully went back in a few weeks and it had miraculously been cleaned up.

If it had an expiration date, no...I would to a sniff and consistency check...

So question what would be the difference between it collecting dust in the shelf at the store and at your house???

No different from what alot of product junkies do? No???

Yup most likely its a brand I know already as long as its not spilling or damaged just a little dust - and I know the BSS doesn't sell fake items. If in doubt I would check the expiry date etc

Ditto.

And I do have dusty products in boxes in my closet that will be used one day. Conditioners and leave-ins don't go bad unless they are the organic specialty kind with little to no preservatives. Most BSS products will last a lifetime, IMO.

I know if the owner would dust regularly I wouldn't know the difference but since they didn't I can't bring myself to buy it. I don't even bother checking dates or anything.

Depends mayne, it depends. If I can easily wipe that joint off on something before I have to pick it up then I might buy it, especially if it is something I really want. I will inspect the product and make sure that it doesn't look nasty or has mold or something else crazy.

On the regular though, I usually pass it up unless it is something that I really wanted and it was discontinued.

Depends on the product, how much I love it, the price and how hard it was to find. The more natural & organic the product was, the more worried I'd be. If I remember correctly, there was some product with mango or something that LHCF-ers were complaining had mold on it. That's the upside to stuff like mineral oil and silicone, I don't think they go bad.

+1 :yep::yep::yep::yep:

Dust builds up fast in stores you have to dust every couple of days. The candy in grocery stores needs to be dusted ever day :)

Dust doesn't always mean expired.

Umm I would. I agree with the above posters. I dont see how this is any different from products collecting dust in your house under the sink or in a cabinet.
