Would using a damp scarf help with moisture loss?

My moisturizing spray has glycerin in it. Glycerin is not recommended in winter because it pulls moisture out of hair if there is none available in the dry winter air. Do you think that the moisture loss could be avoided be using a damp (sprayed with water) scarf after the spray instead of a dry one? Wouldn't the glycerin draw the water from the scarf?

I wouldn't know anything about the method you described but when I want to use glycerine in the winter (or in dry environments) I just mix it with water and/or aloe vera juice and my hair is just fine.
I think when you mix an appropriate amount of water (depending on your hair & the dew point) with the glycerine, the glycerine helps to draw that water into your hair shaft.
HTH!

I'd be worried about mildew. Glycerin doesn't work for me at all, but like kxlot79 said, mixing aloe vera juice is super moisturizing. I used to make the kimmaytube leave-in and found my hair would be moisturized non-stop.
