I relaxed my hair yesterday using the Cream of Nature no lye regular strength relaxer that comes with the little pouch of oil.

I was really excited to try this because I had a 16 week stretch and was so disappointed. I followed my usual routine, parted my hair into six sections, started in the back where my hair is coarsest and takes longer to process.

I processed for about 13 minutes all together which is normal for me and with most relaxers gets my more kinky areas to a softer wave and the wavy parts almost straight. No such luck.

There are large sections on one side where it doesn't feel like my hair processed at all, the areas that are usually the quickest to process don't look like I did anything at all. The relaxer itself was very drying and there was not nearly enough neutralizing shampoo. Also the neutralizing shampoo isn't the kind that goes from pink to white.

Thumbs down.

The only good thing is that my edges are fairly less fluffy and crazy so that's good however, the rest I could have done without. My hair was finally dry this morning and the back area sort of relaxed but not quite to the degree I was looking for.

Overall I was really disappointed and I'm going to go back to the Olive oil one I normally use.

:(

I posted a thread about this crappy relaxer a few weeks ago. Yes, it SUCKS! After stretching for like 14 weeks, I was so excited to try this and the relaxer was pure garbage. The first warning was it didn't come with a conditioner, WTH kind of relaxer doesn't come with a conditioner? But I went ahead and used it anyway :hammer:

Did you use the leave in too? OMG, that :censored: leave in :nono:

Ugh I wish I'd have seen your post before I bought that crap.

That leave in is so gross. It smelled weird AND it was freaking sticky.

Why was it sticky? I was tempted to wash over again but it was too late. I'm henna-ing and DC'ing tonight when I get home from work. I am so disappointed.

mmmm I tried this too, but it worked wonders for me. The only thing I didn't like was the leave-in conditioner, that was wayyyy too heavy for my hair.

I tried it this weekend because creme of nature used to work for me in the past.

It got my hair the straightest it's been in a while but still not totally straight. It didn't burn much at all, which is a plus.

But the neutralizing shampoo doesnt last very long and the leave in didnt really do anything for my hair. I did notice my hair was a little dry. I wouldn't recommend this relaxer to anyone but I think I'll stick with it because I dont want to keep switching. This was my first no lye relaxer in about 7 years. No lye deifnitely straightens my hair better.

Wow! I'm sorry this didn't work for you. I've always loved CON relaxers, but the only thing I didn't like about this one was that conditioner.
