I personally don't think so. Somehow I think the serum (usually made of silicones) may mess with the way the dc is supposed to work and not allow the conditioner to penetrate the strand as well as it should. I could be wrong but...I try to limit my cones in DC's. Otherwise my hair feels great wet, but a dry mess after.
 
i would say no, dont do it. its just going to block moisture or conditioner from going into the hair. i would use a natural oil maybe,
