My mom says I need to stop trying different products, because I may not get the results I want and I am confusing my hair. Have you ladies try different types of hair products and got good results? Or is it best to stick with one line?

Hi Blueberry: I Admittedly have a TON of Products. And a Good Variety of Product Lines.:look:

Many Lines --- But, the same sort of Products from those specific Lines.

I do Rotate Product Lines.

And Personally, I feel that my Hair has thrived.

I am PJ also, but I try to stick with a regular regimen. :look: I never tried a whole line of products by a specific brand though. I still see results when using random products that I purchase, however I think I can see BETTER results if I simplify my reggie.

I don't have products from the same line. Not everything from every line works for me. I do think though that if you try a line (or even one simple product) you should try it for atleast a month or two to see if you get improved results UNLESS if its doing horrible things to your hair. I also believe that you should try a product in more than one way. Sometimes a leave in sucks at being a leave in but its a great day to day moisturizer & etc.

Edit: You should try to stick with the same products however even if its products from a different line. I think it takes a quite of bit of work to get hair with a little more shine, a little more bounce & etc. Sometimes I think its not the product that isnt working for the hair but the damaged hair itself & perhaps giving it some time for your hair to get healthier you will see the product is working for your hair.

It can be difficult with so many products out there, but how are you to know what works for "your" hair.

Give something a go but i do think sticking to one line has its benefits and over time results should be evident.

I personally have now tried to stick with products that are working and when i see something new or hear about other products that are not in my collection I need to exercise self restraint! :yep:

It's not necessary to stick with one line, but you do need to try products while having a purpose in mind. If you jump to something new each week then you're not giving products enough time to work and you may have a hard time keeping track of what does work (and why).

Start with a basic regimen and keep a journal. Write down how your hair feels after each step (and be detailed). Give your products time to work, especially deep conditioners. Now sometimes you know from the first that something is just a disaster, but other times the good results come from cumulative use.

Writing things down will help you see patterns like maybe creamy conditioners with lots of oil work always work. That way when you do decide to buy a new product, you have a guideline for what will work for your hair.

Also, it's best to only try one new thing at a time while keeping the rest of your regimen the same. Let's say you always shampoo with CON, then cowash with v05, and then DC and you want to try a new DC. You should still wash with CON, cowash with v05, and then try your new DC. If you try a new cowash and a new DC on the same day, it'll be harder to figure out which one gave you results (good or bad).

Very good advice.:yep:

I say stick with a couple good products. If you keep switching around, you won't know for sure which products delivered the results or which ones are crap because you're puttting everything on your head. Just try one for a while and see how it goes.
