Hey all!

I have relaxed 4b hair which I deep con on a weekly basis.

If I flat iron my hair once a week, at 280 degrees with a Sedu (w/ Proclaim Leave In) will I cause heat damage or slow my growth? If so, how often could I get away with this and keep my hair healthy?

My hair is finally getting on track now. It's one inch past SL and I'd hate to have it breaking out now!

Thanks!

Only you know your hair.

I'd say the average person can get away with using direct heat once... or twice (if they're lucky) a month without dealing with increased breakage.

However some people's hair can take the heat once a week and it thrives regardless.

Whatever you do just remember to use heat protectant, stay on top of deep conditioning and your protein treatments :yep:

im the same hair type and length as u. for the first 7 months of my journey i rollerset then flat ironed once a week and i didnt have any damage. So basically i was using direct heat 4x a month. But PLEASE use a good heat protectant especially on the ends. I got a lil lazy with spreading my heat protectant on the ends and they suffered b.c. of that.
