I just keep twisting my hair and then wrap the ends around the twist and secure w/ a satin scrunchie. Am I making sense?
Well, that is how I do mine. Hope this helps.

This sounds like a large bantu knot - is that so?

Hey! Come to think of it... YES! It is a big fat bantu knot.

I never thought of it that way...My bun is a BIG KNOT

Thanks!

I hold my hair at the nape of my neck as if I am going to make a ponytail. Then I twist the hair in an upward and counterclockwise direction as I am forming the bun. When I get to the end of the twist, I tuck it into the underside of the bun. This creates a doughnut-shaped bun. The bun stays put by itself, so I don't add pins or scrunchies.

Sometimes I will add a couple of hairsticks for decoration, but not often.

I form my bun the same way. I use the Good Hair Days Plastic Pins to keep my bun in place, then put on a cute scrunchie. I also use hair sticks from time-to-time.
