A little bit of oil, gel, or pomade (or a mixture of both) and a scarf usually does the trick!

Maybe it's the scarf I'm missing because I have the exact same problem and I do apply oil or gel or both, yet my ends lay down for about 5 seconds and stick straight back up. What am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem...nothing works for me...I would love to hear some suggestions myself.

First except the fact that they aren't going to be as straight as freshly relaxed. Then get you some activater and mix it with equal parts oil, a satin scarf and a soft bristle brush. Take it easy with the brush just enough to smooth so that the scarf tied like a vise to your head will smooth the way.

I moisturize and oil my hair and then smooth with a wet brush and the moiturize again. (I use mango butter and Hot 6 Oil). And then I put on my scarf and go to sleep! (P.S. I stole this trick from one of the natural female's hair album..THANK YOU!)
