Wig Density Question

I was wondering do any of you ladies "alter" the density of your wigs once you get them? I was thinking of making my main side part wider by using a razor blade to it. I would practice on my old synthetics wigs first bc I now only wear HH and the one I want to alter is an Indian Remy Yaki, so I don't want to mess it up. tia
 
I alter mine but I don't really recommend creating a wider part. I did that to my chinese remy yaki wig and it was cool at first but through shedding and bleaching the knots, the part got wider. I eventually ended up switching the part all together.
 
Are you trying to alter a lace wig? Are you trying to get more of the "part" to show?

If so, I would recommend that you use tweezers to pluck out individual strands.

I thin out the density of most of my wigs by using something like below from any BSS for $3:
