I KNOW I KNOW:wallbash: what should I do? I know better... or you'd think I'd know better....

do I cut what's left?

twist what's left

live in conditioner ?:perplexed

I used to do this all the time. Just moisturize, moisturize, moisturize for the next few days. That will help.

I don't know for sure, but sometimes stronger protein treatments will revert freshly relaxed hair maybe it'll help revert heat damaged hair? I'd wait for someone with more knowledge to confirm that though before doing it though...
I believe I've heard on the board of ladies who think they've destroyed their curls are able to salvage them by deep conditioning alot and with general moisture. That might be your best bet for now. Sorry I can't be of anymore help, lady! Maybe you can try a braid or twist out for now?

Do you have any mild protein conditioners around? (you're gym's sister, so I know you GOTTA have a big stash! :lachen: )

Try dc'ing with some protein, then condition with a moisturizing conditioner, and leave it on your hair so it can soak and marinate. No need to use a leave-in, just use the conditioner. Lots of it! Do a twist out or braidout and let it airdry overnight.

Up your co washing and definitely up your deep condtioning!!!

:lachen::lachen::lachen::grin:

Actually I don't.... I am more so a hair minimalist .... I try to keep the bulk of my product those I can eat; believe it or not I only have two shampoos, 2 conditioners, leave in, castor oil, glycerin, shea butter, ACV, and backing soda.... of course honey and olive oil pull double duty in the kitchen and bathroom...................

Well thanks... I acutally twisted my hair and then rinsed out the conditioner mix, applied some leave in (giovanni direct), and sealed with shea butter..... I'll wet them in the morning and repeat...

Thanks again I know when my sister reads this tomorrow she is gonna just roll her eyes... LOL... she is the family hair guru!!! LOL:lachen:

I also have a heat damaged section in the front of my hair. but mine didn't break off however it does have that golden line of doom that you talked about.

It looks scorched and maintains a faint burnt hair smell right there.

1st off...Don't put anymore heat in that area for a long long time.

I would say live in conditioners. keep moisturizing. I can't say go to protein because the my hair doesn't care for heavy protein at all so that's up to you & gym...she'll know what to do.

Can you put some rows of flat twists or cornrows in the front for a while? that way you can do low manip. for a while and up the moisture.
