Does anyone know? I read that Sallyss pulled it off the shelves! I still have a jar, and I'm wondering if I should toss it or hold onto it.

Any information on this one would be appreciated!

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

It might be a good idea to call the company and find out. There must be a reason behind this. Definitely find out before you use it.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Here is their e-mail address:

[email protected] <[email protected]>

I used to have the number to the VP of marketing but I don't have it anymore. I can't e-mail them right now (e-mail is acting up) but someone who can there you go.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I went in Sally's yesterday and I still saw plenty of it on the shelves.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I e-mailed to ask like a week or 2 ago and haven't gotten a response yet. It is suppose to be discontinued at Sally's. That didn't bother me but what does bother me is that I heard it is being recalled at other stores.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

This is an old story....

The reason why it was recalled was because of an incident at the factory. Some CPR containers were filled with RELAXER and CPR mixed together instead of just CPR conditioner.

Everything is okay with the CPR containers now. At least that's what the reps at Sallys Beauty Supply told me 5 months ago. ;o)

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Yeah I wonder too being that I just used it Sunday!!!

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

OHHHHN NNNOOOOO!!! I hope I did not get a bad container!!!!

Well thanks for letting us know because I know alot of people were trying to find out. How could they let something like that happen? I am sorry for whoever got the bad batch and if it was me I would sue because sometimes I leave that stuff on for a long time

I need to buy some more but I'll think I'll wait

But anyway Sally's still has it listed as discontinued on their website. I guess it is not selling well there. Last time I went to mine they only had one container left. I will have to check it out to see if they restocked it.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Allrighty then!! I will not be purchasing ANY products by any manufacturers of relaxers.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Oh that is just crazy. Hopefully someone who uses CPR alot would notice a difference in smells. That is just horrible I'd be ready to sue if I got the bad batch. I haven't used CPR in a while, but this certainly does not instill conusmer confidence in me. This is now crossed off my products to buy list. Maybe it got mixed up because their containers look so much alike

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Yall got me scared. I went and check my CPR and it smelled normal thank God!

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

That's the same thing I was thinking when I read that! I had a sigh of relief when my beloved Nexxus came to mind.

Nooooooooo, say it ain't sooooooo

Well, I've used it twice and it seemed to help stop breakage a little. After hearing this I don't know what to do with it, I don't know whether to throw it away or not

I doubt if I got a bad batch since it seemed to work but I don't like to take chances when it comes to stuff like this. I like other protein conditioners like GPB and Joico K-Pack much better anyway and probably wouldn't be using the CPR too often, plus it was only $6.99 but I hate to waste money. Guess the verdict is still out on this one.

Neutralize everytime you use CPR...

Just kidding !

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I wonder if I got a bad batch! Just a couple of hours ago, I was going through my container with all of my hair products, and I noticed that I hadn't used the Motions CPR. I opened it and smelled it and it stank!! I thought it was the tea tree oil in it,and I was going to post a question on the smell, but now I'm not going to chance it. I'm throwing that mess out!

I'm so glad I came here tonight, otherwise I would have been putting that mess in my hair tommorow!

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I just took a look at the website and CPR sure is on the recall list in addition to 33 other items

I wonder what's wrong with the rest of the stuff. There are all kinds of products and even brushes on the list. The Gold and Hot bonnet Dryer I use is on the list as well, I wonder why, all I know is that it is awkward as all get out trying to get all of my hair dry under it so I'm just waiting until I can afford to buy a better one. Anyway, I threw my CPR away, even if I would not have thrown it away I would've been way too paranoid to use it or to give it to somebody else. $6.99 plus tax isn't worth the paranoia, I've wasted money on more expensive things so I don't feel too bad about getting rid of it.

I would have been thinking about that if I would have kept it.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I have been using the CPR to prevent breakage as they outlined in Ebony magazine some months ago. One thing I noticed is that the CPR conditioners in the jars look exactly like the jars of relaxers. I think this was a big mistake on their part. I would be very easy to reach for a jar of CPR conditioner and end up with relaxer. I have seen them sitting side by side in the beauty supply stores. My 2 jars here at home are fine and by the way the treatment works extremely well.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I don't know the answer but I know that stuff made my hair straw like and it broke off. I wouldn't never go near CPR ever again and that was 2 or 3 years ago.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

I still don't understand exactly why it was recalled though? I want to hear from the Motions company, but I doubt we'll get a straight answer

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

*opening my jar of CPR*
*sniffing the jar*

um... it's suppose to be a light grayish color, right??

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Yes like a grayish white color (if that makes sense lol). CPR works great on my hair.

Re: Why Was Motions CPR Conditioner Recalled ...

Thanks for responding everyone.

I've been using CPR for the last month and I still have a full head of hair. I too was wondering if I had lost my hair what would have been my chance of prevailing in such a lawsuit since they see it as "just hair that will grow back".
