I've read about the MN hair growth thing, and I'm wondering why do people add sulfur 8 to it? I was thinking of just doing MN/ castor oil b/c I don't want to put mineral oil on my scalp. But does sulfur 8 give better growth results?

You don't have to use the grease if you don't want to. You can use flowers of sulfur powder instead and add that to your MN and oil mix instead. The grease adds substance to the mix but that's nothing a little hair moisturizer won't solve.

Here's what the one that I use look like:

It can be found here http://www.amazon.com/Sulfur-Powder...ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1251777062&sr=8-1

You only need a 1/2 teaspoon (maybe a tad bit more) in a 10-12 oz mix of MN, moisturizer and oils. I measure by the look of the yellow color of sulfur 8 grease but I mix it a shade lighter.

ETA: You may get a better consistency if you use a blender or mixer. HTH!
