............COARSE! I did my regular wash with ntm products and decided to use my ORS hair mayonnaise to dc instead of salerm wheat germ. I sat under my hooded dryer for about 20 minutes. I rinsed it out, added ny normal leave-ins which were, ntm silk, salerm 21, surged a lil bit and added my oils (mind you this all took place on Sunday). Ever since then, my NG has this rough look to it. Not to mention that it feels rough. The only thing I did differently was dc with ORS hair mayo. Is that the culprit?
I cw'd tonight thinking that I could get my normal look back and it still looks the same!
Is there anything I can do? I'm 11 weeks post already but I don't plan on relaxing for a while. I wanna see how long I can stretch.

My sweetie asked what was up with my head and I told him I didn't know. He didn't mean any harm but I still felt bad.
Please help!

I have had this to happen to me before, so I would recommend that you use a deep moisturizing conditioner w/ no proteins if possible. The CW probably was not moisturizing enough for what your hair needs. I use L'Oreal's Nature Therapy Mega Moisture Cream, but the other ladies who have a little more experience might have some suggestions as well.

I co wash with queen helene cholesterol or laklair shea butter and my ng stays soft...try those. Are you moisturizing your ng...when I am 9 weeks post my ng start getting thick and the only thing that helps me is co washing every other day with the products I mentioned above and my ng stays soft and moisturized...as a matter of fact since I started taking primrose oil vitamins my ng is soft and I really don't have to do anything special to it but co wash every other day when my hair is like 7 weeks post or so...I hope I'm making sense...also I don't know if my regimen will work for you...just trying to help out...I also moisturize my hair with vitapointe hair cream after it dries...:)

I thought of doing that last night but for some reason I chose not to. I think I will do this tonight.

Thanks a bunch!

Is that the creamy stuff in a container? I think I seen this in Ulta and at Target. Am I right? It costs about $2 and some change? Okay, I think I'll try that.
How long have you been taking those vitamins? I might have to add those to my regimen. My ng is off the chain!

Thanks tsmith!

Maybe too many products. When is the last time you clarified?

You think? I clarified Sunday before last. I try to clarify every 2 weeks.

Back when I used to stretch my relaxer touchup times, I cowashed with Suave Humectant Conditioner and moisturized my new growth with S-Curl or Elasta Qp Oil Recovery. They kept my new growth softer. ;)

I use that on my daughter's hair.
I've been meaning to get some s curl but I'm tryin to use up the products that I have. I guess I need to get some new products since I'll be attempting to stretch. Shouldn't be too bad. I'm tellin myself it's okay so that I won't feel bad about spendin money. I'm really tryin to slow down on my spendin habits (for new products, that is:lachen: )
